Wasn't meant to be derogatory! Just that they need to walk the talk, win or lose!!

And Lewis is. It's what, Five years since he won a championship? I don't see any signs of him packing in. Sure he gets downbeat and disappointed but one of his hash tags is nevergiveup. I can't see how you can compare him to Vettel at all, to me they're very different.

You can't see the comparison I do, because you are a fan of Hamilton's!

It's happened so many times where comments are made about Schumi
or Alonso or Kimi, of whom I am a fan, that I don't understand how the
comparison/comment can be made!

It's all a matter of perspective, eh? :wavey:

It's not such a bad comparison. The big difference is one internalises problems and the other externalises, but that's probably more to do with the relative success of their careers. One is finally turning into a man whilst the other is still in Neverland.

Careful. If Mercedes put out a successful car next year, can the Lewis bashing be far behind? It's been nice letting Seb (and Massa) have all of it of late.

When I get home tonight I'm going to write a very very very very very very very controversial thread on Hamilton. I expect death threats.

Lewis and Alonso have paid their dues, and if they get a good car and win a string, it will be in line with previous legends of F1, who have been seen to go through the rough and the smooth, proving themselves over and over.

I used to dislike Alonso, but recently my respect and empathy for him have grown to outweigh my opinion of his character etc. His sporting travails mean he has IMO proven himself to be up there in this era, with Lewis.

I dont think you will hear many boos if Lewis and Alonso start dominating. Because it will be the top drivers of the era showing the top skills of the era

And not a test driver showing the best implementation of traction assist or the best interpretation of the flapping wing regulation, or the best cockpit design for a hidden ride height adjuster...etc etc

 no doubt the usual suspects who dislike Alonso and hamilton regardless will have their say but I very much doubt either of them will be universally booed. They've both proved they can hack it with the best and in a less good car.
( I'm with you cookie on Alonso, gone from dislike to respect, he's earnt it!)
