So when are these guys going to announce their driver line up for next year....?

Lol 3 races left in the season and both seats are currently empty for 2014. When has this happened last in McLarens history?

They are going to keep the 2 drivers. It is too late to do anything else. Button has already hinted the contract has been signed. They are just scaring perez into doing a good job. Look what happened to Perez last year after he signed for Mclaren

A good job for what? I mean really what's McLaren got to gain/lose the remainder of this season? They're fairly entrenched in the 5th spot and it's highly unlikely that FI will give them any meaningful challenge, so at this point all they're looking to do is maintain.

If you where the team manager would you rather Perez went around crashing into everything like last year? Or want him motivated?

Well they could go for Perez and Hulk......or Perez and Alonso? I think they want Alonso but martin can't get over his Button crush, so it all gets mixed up.

That was last year, but he's had a year, he's already at McLaren and the motivation is to drive smooth and collect enough points to keep them where they are. In other words keep doing what you've been doing. It's not like there's expectation to get on a podium or drive the car beyond its capabilities. Really all Checo has to do is keep in touch with Button which I think he's done, but not quite. Which is understandable given that he's not the team leader nor the one with the longest F1 active career.

And Button does his stuff every time Checko threatens to eclipse him.

Next season will show where everyone will fit with their teams. It will be interesting. Alonso to replace Checo. Or maybe even Button?

His best finish went from 2nd last year to 5th.

Also do you not think now that Perez is improving as a more mature and professional driver like Grosjean

Perez:
Sergio Perez said he had "a nightmare of a race" as he finished ninth in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Having qualified in eighth place Perez slipped back behind Fernando Alonso and Paul di Resta to score just two points. McLaren had looked competitive during Friday practice but Perez said he had issues with his tyres and traction throughout the race and was disappointed to not be able to make progress further up the field.

"On my first set on the prime I don't really know what happened," Perez said. "I struggled a lot with the early laps for front end. And also overtaking was very difficult for me, we didn't have any traction; we knew we were low on downforce trying to get the top speed but it was harder than we expected. I thought today was going to be a very good race but it turned out to be a nightmare of a race and a very difficult one."

Button:

Team-mate Jenson Button admitted an error he made in hitting Paul di Resta at the start ruined his own race.

"It's a pity that I keep having first-lap incidents when the car is actually working reasonably well," Button said. "In to Turn 1 I accidentally went up the bum of [di Resta] and just got all really cosy at Turn 1 I think with a Williams coming across from the right as well. Then I had to do two pit stops within about the space of seven laps - exactly the same as the last two races - so it's not really going my way. 44 laps on the prime at the end salvaged something I suppose in terms of getting the most out of what we had. No points today but a well-earned 12th place!"

Standards, talk about standards. One guy is not happy with points, another is happy going up a Scotsman's bum and being all 'cozy' with it.
