"It's true when you find a Red Bull you see they are faster than you in the corners but this also happens with other cars and we don't say anything, like Mercedes. Hamilton was pole position in Hungary and winning easy, same feeling. All the things are good and it is up to us to do a better job."

If you look at the onboards, [Vettel] is on the power at least 20 metres before everyone else, which is a huge advantage. There’s nothing we can really do. We’re always asking for more rear downforce and we always want to get on the power sooner. But the last time I was able to put the pedal down that quickly was in 2007 when we had traction control.”

"We are pretty proud of the system we have because other people will never figure out how we have done it," he said. "Constantly we try to improve the car, that is part of the homework we try to do.

He added: "We were playing around quite a lot in practice [in Singapore] and the first time it worked was in the race. I'm quite confident because other people will never figure out how we do it."

A very honest horse admitting publicly that Redbull have some very good secrets to hide. Well done to them, but he's helped his rabid fans to see that he isn't actually that much faster than the rest of the guys in the field.

Aw, you're still telling yourself those fairy tales of people making claims they never made?

So whose word do we take? Alonso's or Hamilton's?

[racechick]

Hamilton was joking around, as was Vettel when he said ' we'll beat them when we turn the TT on. Alonso may be building bridges for a walk down the paddock to the Bull garage. I doubt they have illegal TT. But they have something, Vettel has said so, and it's something to do with engine mapping, they went to the FIA about it

Though it's an OPINION, I thought I'd share this:

RedBull solid fuel exhaust lining for off throttle blowing

My very reliable sources tell me that Redbull have a special lining of ultra high density solid fuel coated inside the exhaust pipes. It it aslo rumoured that RedBull also have higher than normal levels of hydrogen carriers in their fuel.

Sebastian Vettels sets his engine to "G-9", this is a special engine map that allows semi-lean engine cycling and post inginition to create very high exhaust gas temperatures. The solid fuel coating on inner surface of the exhaust pipes activates and evaporates. The fuel reacts with the excess air in the exhaust gas stream. Though burning at a moderate rate, the explosion from the solid fuel air mixture is still expansive enough to increase the energy of the exhaust gasses three-fold.

The fuel is only enough to be used for a few minutes. But with low speed corners, where exhaust blowing is required most, only a small portion of the lap, a few minutes of off throttle is more than enough for Vettel to blast out of corners with a 40 point down-force advantage.

It is said that the number 1 RB-9 car has exhaust pipes that are 5 kilograms heavier than normal. That is how unbelievable dense this slow burning rocket fuel is! Some fuel and balast is sacrificed to make suit. And that is why we see that the RedBulls qualifying advantage is not the huge one second gaps we were using to seeing in 2012.

I was interested until I realised it was someone off another forum, with no real credentials.

Sorry Sagi.

Sorry Sagi.

Don't apologize! It's all technical-mechanical mumbo-jumbo to me!!
I figured someone here would "get it" and explain it... in English, that is!!

Admittedly, it sounds interesting, but when he starts talking about non-existent 1 second qualifying advantages in 2012, you have to question the validity of his words.
