Two hours? You lot are light weight. With build up and post race you are looking at least 5.5hrs on Sunday. Plus about 2.5/3hrs on the Saturday. In the middle of the day. On the only two days of the week the wife and I get to spend together. My wife is a tricking Saint.

Or...she doesn't value your company as much as you believe. Granted it's a less romantic outlook but it's another perspective. :P

Lewis ain't happy. Merc had strategy issues, to say the least.

Lewis Hamilton says Mercedes cannot be satisfied with their Singapore GP weekend and that any lingering title hopes they had are now over.

The 2008 World Champion failed to make up any positions during the race - starting and finishing in fifth - whilst Fernando Alonso worked his way from seventh to second and Kimi Raikkonen from 13th to third.

Hamilton feels that the team did not get their strategy right and was upset that he was not kept better informed of his position.

"I don't think we can come away from this weekend satisfied," the 28-year-old told Sky Sports F1.

"I thought we were further ahead - I didn't see my pit board and no one told me what position I was in, so I thought with Mark [Webber] dropping back we were progressing, so it was disappointing to get the result that we got considering how hard we were pushing.

"Maybe the strategy wasn't the best, but nevertheless the guys did a great job and I hope at the next race we have a better chance."

Hamilton gave a frustrated interview on the BBC, saying that when he wanted to pit for prime, they insisted on the option (or something like that), and that this completely backfired.

He went option-prime-prime.....so I think you have it backwards.

Anyway, I think this interview was right after the race....maybe when Brawn explains the logic behind the decision he'll cool down a bit. I don't see where they could've done better....mirror Alonso/Kimi's strategy? Sure...that'll work well when they know their car's reputation on tyres!

I have to pay attention to the lap charts but didn't they go as deep with the options as Ferrari at least in the first stint? Also coming in for a set during the SC would have extended the life of those options, that's why both Ferrari and Lotus got away with it, I'm not too sure Mercedes wouldn't have gotten away with it as well.

Passing in Singapore is damned difficult, so why give up 10~12 spots for an additional pit stop? Anyway, hindsight is 20/20 and that's the only reason I'm making my argument but the Merc strategy clearly didn't work, so it's only a case of whether the one stop would have netted them any better than a 4th and 5th.

Must admit I was somewhat bemused as to why they didnt pit under the safety car, at best if they had they could have finished two/ three. Still, you can't get it right every time.

And to those team orders aficionados... let it be noted that Mercedes let their boys race.

I liked it when I heard the pit message go out to Lewis. "You have to get past Webber, Nico has been given the same message" in other words, do what you ned to , race each other if you have to. Great to hear!

It was in vain as the strategy had put them too far down, but full marks for giving the boys the go ahead.

What's the guarantee that their tyres would've lasted as long as the Ferrari and Lotus? Even McLaren lost over 30 seconds in 4-5 laps as they hit the cliff. And Ferrari and Lotus are reputed to be easiest on tyres while Mercedes.......

Even in hindsight, I think they went down a safe route. If they mirrored the strategy, they could've beaten Kimi maybe (thx to Button's efforts) but not Alonso towards the end.

With all due respect, how did you get "race each other if you have to" from "you have to get past Webber"?
Is it just because they told Rosberg the same thing?

Because Nico was in front of Lewis. Lewis couldn't pass Webber unles Nico did or he overtook Nico. They were close at that point in the race.

With all due respect, did you watch the race? Hamilton stuck his nose beside Rosberg at least thrice and Rosberg was on the defensive many times, which is part of the reason they took so long to overtake Perez.
