If Kimi moves to Redbull....he would've driven for 4 WDC/WCC winning teams on the grid. McLaren, Ferrari, Redbull, Lotus (the defunct Renault).

Which other driver could make such a boast? :scratchchin: Damn.

Of the current drivers, Button could (Benetton, Williams, Brawn, McLaren). But if you go back in time (to 1990, as I got bored at that point... :hehe: ), so could Martin Brundle (Tyrrell, Williams, Brabham, McLaren), Nigel Mansell (Lotus, Williams, Ferrari, McLaren) and Alain Prost (McLaren, Renault, Ferrari and Williams).

However, if you're willing to let me bend the rules a little, Jean Alesi could also make that claim (Tyrrell, Ferrari, Benetton and Prost (who purchased Ligier, who in turn bought Matra's assets according to Wikipedia, though from the looks of things not the whole team)).

Of course, this whole thing assumes that they didn't all have to be racing at the same time in some incarnation. :P

He was only 'fired' from Ferrari wasn't he?

According to Ron Dennis, no driver leaves Mclaren

Yes, poor Verge! Wonder why they're missing him out. This guy clearly doesn't think too highly of Red Bull

Ricciardo is more experienced and is the driver (currently on RB's books) most likely to replace Webber so it makes perfect sense that he is chosen over Vernge.

I used to be on a forum where a rather vociferous member seemed to use Joe Saward (or Joe Sewerage as someone often referred to him as). I wouldn't waste my time with this guy's blog. I mean a quick look at the comments shows just how much he values the opinions of his readers which vary from his own agenda. There are far superior sources for F1 news out there.

He doesn't really other than showing he likes Vernge over Ricciardo. I mean latching onto a difference of a whole 2 points between Ricciardo and Vernge and holding it up as a a measure of which driver is better makes him look like this is the 1st F1 season he's ever watched. He then says points are all that matters (when mentioning the vast gaping chasm of 2 points) then try’s to discredit Ricciarado scoring more than Vernge last season. I'm sure more than just the points matter when you're in a team that struggles to make it into the top 10 at most races.

And there is a spelling mistake in his report. :hehe:

The thing is Vergne actually did score more points than Ricciardo last season, and he is doing the same again this season.

So it's another reason to discredit that writer, but it's also further reason for Vergne to get an equal, perhaps more of an opportunity to test with Red Bull.

Vergne's big issue, however, has been lack of qualifying pace. But he has shown that he is a better racer in my opinion.

Red Bull have even messed up Webber in the YDT... How do you do that?

http://f1pulse.com/news/2013071745/red-bull-gaffe-leaves-webber-out-of-silverstone-test

Not a big deal...even Kimi is dropped from the YDT after planning to run him.

Looks like Pirelli aren't playing around this time, the restrictions are too many for the teams to gain much for themselves....I mean Redbull were even considering running their 2011 chassis. :hehe:

And Mercedes gets all the data from these tests, while focusing on developments during this 3 weeks instead of wasting time testing for Pirelli.

God what a punishment, they get a free reigned secret test AND all the other teams test data whilst the other teams get a heavily regulated Pirelli test...
