Just as it says...

I still got the Nokia C3 even though I planned to get a 'smartphone' over a year ago...I still can't find a reason why I need one. Except for the free sms thing...my basic phone does everything I need it to do! I can't wrap my head around the fact that the smartphone has now become the 'basic phone' to have!

They are pretty cool, lots of neat useful stuff, but yeah, not really basic communication tools.

Stuff like note taking, calenders, pictures, maps, GPS, looking up information, videos, audio recording, lots of apps have cool features too.

Yeah but most app's are totally pointless and are soley designed to seperate stupid people from their cash.

Yeah but you don't download most apps. You download the useful ones.

What apps do you have.....?

None. My phone pre-dates such things. It makes and recieves calls and texts. As a bonus it tells me the time and date and has a camera. Can't really think of anything else I need on a phone.

I know people who have ayefones full off app's which are just (by their own admission) totally pointless but were good for a luahg for 5 minutes. Anyone notice that ayefones are addictive? Some people seem to be glued to the things all day long!

Then you know some stupid people.....

I only have useful apps such as;

Shazam
Email
Music player
Facebook
Imdb
YouTube
Sky+ remote
Banking app
Real Racing 3
Wikipedia
National Rail
PDF Viewer
Google Maps
WhatsApp

And I use over half of them daily, and the rest at least once or twice a week...

Smart people have to make a living too you know.

Battlenet encryption authentication
NASA app
Various news applets
Wi-Fi analyzer
Google drive
Google map
OBDII engine diagnostics utility
RF signal tracker.

of course there's a handful of games as well, but you do know andrew that you can download those apps that are good for a five minute laugh and then uninstall them. There's a lot of dumb people apps for a PC as well, and that didn't stop you from using a computer.

I see it didn't stop you either.

My phone has a nano sim. Pity Vodafone forgot to send me one when they sent me the phone. Had to wait two days for it.

Why do I still feel like this 'smartphone' gadget is released to fulfill a created need instead of an actual need? I see my peers cracking their heads over their smartphones trying to get this and that and whatnot...and my basic dumb-phone of a Nokia continues sitting pretty and allows me for smses and calls without a hiccup. And it needs to be charged once a week...instead of once a day. Oh and I spend less than half of what any other smartphone user spends in a month without even trying.

You actually bought the F1 timing app? :yikes:

Seriously, I would have if it wasn't such a blatant rip off for something they essentially gave away free just a year ago.
