If ANYONE qualifies ahead of both Mercs, I'm putting that person down for the victory in the pool, its a guaranteed 25 points right there. :hehe:

To be honest, I think one is enough, that gives enough to out strategy them, and with the Mercedes car, that isn't hard at all in the race.

It's more difficult with two Mercedes in front, the lead car pits, but the tailing car is held up by the second Mercedes for instance,

Not so simple. If Mercedes decide to just control their own pace, there won't be any gap in the midfield to pit and come out to string out a few fast laps, the guy who pits will be right in the thick of it. Nightmare. You need to be ahead of both, and the victory is there for the taking.

Possibly, but that implies the Mercede's pace will be so slow, no gaps will open, thats quite unlikely.

Of course we can have Grosjean simply drive into them at the start.

But well, third place man, if it's Alonso, even at Monaco may get ahead of one at the start, (this would work with Vettel/Kimi/Massa too, but I think them getting to second off the line is less likely), in that case, simply wait for the lead Mercedes to pit, then do a fast lap or two, may work. Or even go for the one stop.

I do think if Merc qualify well, they'd shoot for the 1 stop. Their race pace was pretty sweet on a high fuel load and even if it turns out not to be in the race, the gamble is worth it with the walls being so close.

Maybe.

Thing with Monoca, is in the grand scheme of the season, its not that important, I mean, for the championship race, being good at Barcelona is far more valuable.

Yeah but I thought this being the Monaco GP thread, we're talking about how Merc's competitors could benefit vs Mercs quali pace on Saturday. I think it is a given fact that Mercedes is not in the fight for Championships this season.

It was indeed a great day for McLaren fans, getting a massive points haul of 6 WCC points. Hope they can keep it up. :)

:rofl::whip::whip::whip:

It's a pretty embarrassing time for us McLaren fans, but hey-ho, things can only improve I guess :hehe:

The advantage seems to be with Lotus and Ferrari, as im sure I heard someone on Sky that Ferrari and Lotus should be able to 1 stop while the rest would probably have to do 2.

In that event, Ferrari/Lotus will just follow Merc and save tyres till they pit and then push before their stops and have a Alonso/Kimi fight for the win (Massa will be 20 seconds behind and Grosjean will probably end up in the wall).

Lol Grosjean crashes again.

Rosberg is a cinch for pole position, the guy really is on a roll. Really hope Merc has some sort of handle on tyres this time.

Oh yeah and there's dark clouds rolling in which sucks....hope they keep away.
