Seems madbrad has some sense, im studying graphic design and advertising and we are taught that this type of imagery is just the same as having ones logo.

darwin to be fair you took a swipe at McLaren fan in doing so took the thread topic away from its correct path.

Mclarenfan is a fan of Mclaren no? he is a fan of Senna no? he wanted he chose to have an image of Senna in a McLaren as his avatar and signature also the images are at a time where tobacco advertising wasnt an issue to what it is now days,
now this is still taking away the topic of 2008 where Ferrari are the ONLY team to continue with tobacco advertising.
dont turn it onto any other team we are talking about FERRARI you want to have a dig at McLaren for having Johnnie walker fine start a new thread. Atleast at this time Alchoholic advertising is not banned in Europe.

I was just showing what hypocrites you and McLaren Fan are and apparently I was pretty successful at that because each time you attack Ferrari, I can turn it around just as easily and prove that McLaren's poop stinks as bad if not worse than Ferrari's. So, give it up bud, move on and focus on the upcoming season with all the exciting races - that should be what gets your juices going, not your petty quibbling about the Marlboro sponsorship :D

For somebody who has a Ph.D and is a university professor you seem slightly retarded. As I said before, I am not a hypocrite because I personally was not or am not advocating a ban on tobacco advertising in Formula One, I am not a legal body which has banned the advertising of tobacco, and nor am I a representative of McLaren.

Your arguments are filled with nothing more than non-sequiturs and speciousness. Your research work must be a complete disaster, or is that you just be a sausage head on this forum?

Should like to do two things briefly. First, apologise publicly for my offensive remark to DD on page 3 of this thread. It was not like me and not how I like to conduct myself, was uncalled for, no matter how fed up I was or how much I was in disagreement with the post. We've sorted matters out over the PM system, thankfully.

I also want to clarify my view on the subject of this post, for my lack of clarity emerged in talking to DD. Regardless of my own views on tobacco advertising, I believe that if you are going to ban it, it has to be a meaningful ban. As I result, I think it is wrong that those in charge be allow Ferrari to continue to use the bar code, which is just as recognisable as Marlboro's name. You could argue that Ferrari should not push the rules on this subject, given people's health is a moral issue, but its not their fault at the end of the day. I'm just staggered that those in charge have let it happen. Thus, my criticism is not directed at Ferrari per se, but at the authorities.

My own favourite Formula One livery is the colours of Marlboro McLaren. Yes, it was not the most exciting colour scheme ever created, but, for me, it is symbolic of a great time for McLaren and for Formula One.
