If only people actually drew the line at that. But they don't, and just looking up the page there are examples of it. Regardless of this, there is also a note in the rules about provocative posts and excessively argumentative responses.

And speaking for myself as a moderator (ie not on behalf of the team), it is just getting really old seeing the same people in the same arguments. It ruins the forum for others. I don't get paid to do this so there is no reason why i should spend time mediating petty arguments OVER AND OVER. The ban button exists for a reason, and if people want to keep trying to bend the rules, causing problems here and generally taking the piss then i'm gonna start using it, cause i've completely had enough of it now. :director:

Rant over. That is all i am saying on this matter.

Geez give it a rest you guys. Every freaking day... it's getting very old.

Maybe you should analyse how it starts and then address that

Speaking for myself, I am not ill mannered enough to initiate ad hominem attacks on other members no matter how disagreeable I find their opinion on F1 matters

Responding to such attacks however is a different manner

I will give you an example;

I don't like Button, i think he is a snake = opinion, acceptable within the rules

Because you don't like button, you are an idiot, you are a tool, etc etc = ad hominem attack on a member, not acceptable within the rules

I'm just saying....

Well said.

And yet, evidence shows the opposite.

On the contrary, evidence has supported Cookinflat's post, seeing that you've earned 2 warnings and fishing trips.

Agree.
In fact, I'm leaving this forum at the end of this season. Much like most of the older members have done.

Well said, It wouldn't be rocket science to confidently predict that bud has also earned a fishing trip before I even joined the site?

I challenge anyone here to produce proof of myself initiating unprovoked ad hominen attacks on any other member

If the mod is saying that he is sick of members posting strong opinions then this should be added to the rules, if I see an opinion that I disagree with, I either offer an opinion or ignore it, I don't engage in debate then resort to insults when I am unable to win
word to the wise;
If you want to be forceful in debates, then dominate it, simply take over with the for e of your intellect, don't resort to cheap cracks, insults and stupid smileys.
And learn who to pick arguments with next time, use the ignore function,
I guess most bullies are not just cowardly but thick also

End of rant/

You guys will cut this crap out, we'll see to it. I locked the thread and didn't get a chance to say why. It's getting unbearable to read through some threads and I'm tried of baby sitting and I"m tried of having to scroll through through a dozen posts perpetuating the same argument, whether you start it, whether you defend it, whether it's a personal attack or simply not letting someone have their opinion, whether you must get that last word in, whatever the the reason that motivates one to keep perpetuating the senseless bickering it's... tiresome.

Thread Reopened but with the following conditions:

  1. Keep the discussion constructive and moving forward..
  2. Any member name calling, using personal insults and generally being a troll will get an instant and immediate warning and/or ban!
  3. All discussion related to McLaren must remain in this thread unless it's specifically related to the other relevant threads.
  4. Any extreme and repetitive comments from both ends of the spectrum will be deleted, we've heard them all many times before.
  5. If you have something positive to say about another driver or team, say it in THEIR support thread this way we can generate constructive discussion there instead of creating an argument here.
Clear? There will be zero tolerance to anyone breaking or even flirting with the boundaries of the above.

I'd also like to point y'all to the General Forum Rules, read them and make sure you comply with them!

Mclaren had a good weekend and did well to recover from Buttons throttle problem.

Their car seems to suit these stop start, quick direction changing corners very well....hence the trend in Singapore, Abu Dhabi and USA. I think Redbull is going to romp away 1-2 in Brazil like they did in 2010, but hoping for some sort of miracle from McLaren to allow Lewis to fight them again.

I was driving along today, listening to this song and it suddenly hit me. It is very fitting of McLaren's year, their situation and general team condition.

You may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
You may find yourself in another part of the world
You may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
You may find yourself in a beautiful house with a beautiful wife
You may ask yourself, well, how did I get here?
Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by, water flowing underground
Into the blue again after the money's gone
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground
You may ask yourself, how do I work this?
You may ask yourself, where is that large automobile?
You may tell yourself, this is not my beautiful house
You may tell yourself, this is not my beautiful wife
Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by, water flowing underground
Into the blue again, after the money's gone
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground
Same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was
Same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was

Water dissolving and water removing
There is water at the bottom of the ocean
Remove the water, carry the water
Remove the water from the bottom of the ocean
Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by, water flowing underground
Into the blue again, after the money's gone
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground
Into the blue again, into silent water
Under the rocks and stones, there is water underground
Letting the days go by, into silent water
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground
You may ask yourself, what is that beautiful house?
You may ask yourself, where does that highway lead to?
You may ask yourself, am I right, am I wrong?
You may say to yourself, my god, what have I done?
Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by, water flowing underground
Into the blue again, after the money's gone
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground
Into the blue again, into silent water
Under the rocks and stones, there is water underground
Letting the days go by, into silent water
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground
Same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was
Same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was

Time isn't holding us, time isn't after us
Time isn't holding us, time doesn't hold you back
Time isn't holding us, time isn't after us
Time isn't holding us...
Letting the days go by, letting the days go by, letting the days go by, once in a lifetime?
Letting the days go by, letting the days go by, letting the days go by, once in a lifetime

McLaren have conducted tests on Perez to gauge his fitness. It's a test all their drivers have to take. And he falls a long way short of Hamilton and Button. He's going to be very busy, over the winter break!!!

Fitness in driving an F1 car or attending sponsor events? He's driving the Sauber just fine, and that's an F1 car too.

Fitness as in physical fitness
Here's the link..."a long way short" were the exact words used.
