This will be the highest attended GP in the history of the sport. I'm going out on a limb here.

I have to hand it to RB: they know marketing!

Better than making tasty drinks!

How many times would Maldonado have bounced off the Lincoln Tunnel walls shooting that?

Knowing the precarious traffic in the city, I still can't get my head around the fact that the NYC port authority actually closed the tunnel for this - who paid for this extravaganza?

The middle tunnel is closed just about every night. Just some creative scheduling, and a little sometin' sometin' in the Bloomberg re-election campaign funds, and badda bing badda boom.

Yep. Anyway, they should take it easy....1 circuit from USA is going to be given a baptising this year, NJ can take it's time.

I'd like to see this race, but I'm not surprised about the delays and not surprised about the funding. Hopefully a successful Austin GP and the change of television rights to NBC sports will mean a bit more visibility and assurance that the 2014 race will go through as planned.

I heard that Mexico is waiting in the wings to replace NJ; and with Russia due to become part of the calendar in 2014; where does NJ fit in?

No real loss. Just another street circuit.

I thought this would happen anyway. I always got the feeling the the prospect of a NJ race existed only to put the pressure on the Austin organisers.

At least give it a chance of its first race before you write it off....

It's a street circuit. These are totally outdated for modern F1.
