Alonso to me is in the same position he was in 2005, he hasnt got the fastest car, but he has a points advantage over his rival.

As i believe Alonso has said, he effectively has 1 "free" mistake, whereas all 4 of his rivals dont. I reckon if Alonso gets 2 podiums and a decent point score in the next 3 races, the championship is as good as his unless one of his rivals start winning consistently, and of his rivals I only see Hamilton showing signs of doing that!

Oh Oh Oh! Can I take a stab at why this thread isn't commented on enough? I think it's because unlike the Daddy of all "That's" threads, people don't go out of their way to badmouth or leave incendiary comments here (the flip side is there's no one also leaving outlandish bombastic claims here) so what you've got is folks coming in to say good job Alonso, and so there isn't much attack and counter attack posts being left.

How was that?

Pretty good. Short and simple, even a smarmy eel should get it. :whip:

I could simplify it even more:

Less talk, more action.

1. The obvious needs no discussion
2. Attacks is relative to what you perceive.

Basically, anything other than what people like you think, to you, its an attack. Which to many others... Its nothing worth going back and forth with.

Take it easy...I was talking about smarmy eels. Not you...unless you'd want to relate to one of course. :hehe:

Let's bring this thread back shall we? How about Alonso's magnificent performance today? He showed why he's the numero uno at the scuderia. I hope race pace is better than qualifying pace. I'd love to see him fight for the bottom step of the podium tomorrow.

He'll no doubt be picking the maximum amount of points it's possible for him to take home.

Massa could also conveniently crash at a very opportune time for the scuderia's pit strategy... it's happened before leading to an unexpected win.
