I was invited today by a friend who work's for Bob Norwwod to come up for a weekend sometime and get the insider tour of the Ferrari P3/4 replica's they build. Here are a few pic's of the replica's they build which actually have Ferrari's support  .

I tell ya what other than my friend's on this forum I have never met a better group of people than the one's on the Ferrari forum I'm a member of. Alot of people have the misconception that Ferrari/exotic car people/owner's are pompous and arrogant, nothing could be further from the truth.

It sounds like you'll be having fun then, Gregg.

I have to say I agree with some people who say Ferraris are pretentious, however, and I'll explain why: The problem concerns new Ferraris. Now, I don't know what it's like in the States, but in Europe Ferraris are now being bought by the David Beckhams of this world, millionaire pansy footballers and the such like, who don't give a toss about the car and want to say they've got a Ferrari. I loved the Ferrari F360 and like the F430, but sadly (if I had the money, that is) I would never buy one otherwise people would call you a "spiceboy". Further, the styling of new Ferraris is atrocious; the the F599, for instance. It's terrible looking, designed to stand out and draw people's attention to it.

If you want a Ferrari that sums up the essence of Ferrari, you have to get an older Ferrari. That way the styling is great, the car oozes quality, they make people look in awe rather than disgust, and are David Beckham proof. The category includes the P3/4, F288 GTO, F40 and F355 (which just escaped the posh footballer era).

i agree with you. Among the latest Ferraris, i just like the 612, it's elegant, the 599 but also the 430 are quite in "Japan style", which is good just for the videogames. If i had enough money to buy a Ferrari, I wouldn't certainly choose one over the 550, my dream is the '59 250 GTO, but i would like also the 288 GTO (although it's "just" an 8 cylinders engine..)

Yes sir they do see the 4th pic they normally use use the 550's engine. Here is a link http://www.p4norwood.com/index.htm. McLaren Fan in '84 I was driving down the road and heard the most glorious engine I had ever heard and right next to me was a 288GTO, I almost hit the car infront of me  .

Nor will I atleast until I visit Norwood's shop :D ! Only four Ferrari P's were ever made: one P 3/4 and three 330 P4's and there were only 12 replica's built by Norwood 11 of which are still here in the US and the other one is part of a private collection in Switzerland.

PS,
Sorry you meant the 288GTO right?

Well, the problem is that by driving it in a public area, you are being seen and people are going to think "Look at that big pansy, he's just showing off his Ferrari, has it for the sake of having it and knows nothing about the car". However, if you have an older Ferrari, which I think have a lot more character, it's more subtle and people won't think you're a pretentious bar steward. As much as I love the 360 and the 430, I still prefer the slightly older Ferraris. Give me a 355, 288 GTO, 512BB, F40 etc. any day. They may not be as fast as an Enzo or 430, but their class, character and looks well make up for that.
