The Guardian seem to think Mclaren are having a 'crisis' meeting today so although Whitmarsh said he is not worried at all and that they will improve for Germany seems the British media feel that something drastic has to change. They mention the next race haveing a bearing on the future of Whitmarsh as McLaren boss.

Whitmarsh has actually said that Germany is just a race like any other and has no extra significance but the media seem to think he is under pressure to produce results

So who is right? Whitmarsh - there is no problem to worry about, we just have to do better or the press - He must do better or else

interesting couple of weeks ahead

They will decide to strap rockets to the car in the hope of securing 3rd place.

McLaren are to hold a "crisis meeting" on Tuesday as the Woking squad look to find answers for their recent slump in form.

Mclaren Hold the meeting to investigate more about the car performance. hopefully they will find some good answers.

Obviously McLaren think something is wrong at McLaren, though a few here think not.

It usually is.

I'm not saying there's nothing wrong, just that I don't think it's as bad as it appeared at Silverstone.

Just a blip is it?

And the blip will be over at the next race because Sam and Martin have insisted that the new upgrades will turn McLaren into a top 2 team again?

Problem is, they have said that before

A team with the history, resources and aspirations of Mclaren, a company deep into the mother of all investments to produce the 'British Ferrari' road division, a company that talks about its attention to detail and the importance of improving by split seconds has no excuse for getting beaten by the mid field teams. They dont have the resources to work out the tyres? same for everyone else

Why are at least 4 teams now better than McLaren? Why has it got to this stage race by race over the season?

Should McLaren just accept that they cannot be as good as the big boys or do they change something?

The clue is having a lame duck driver as the lead when it comes to focus and development, this is a function of having another lame duck as team boss

Lewis said at the post race party that there was going to be a big meeting on Tuesday and that he and jenson would be using some 'big words'.
So finally, finally we get to Whitmarsh being queried as suitable for the job. How long did that take????? :banghead::banghead:

Err, I'm sorry, I can't see Jenson using those 'big words' against Whitmarsh. Whitmarsh has performed WAY better than Button this year.

No. It was lewis who said it. I just hope in this meeting Lewis says his piece and doesnt go along with things. He doesnt like politics. Jens will make sure he's covered. He's already said "other drivers would be shocked if they drove this car" Well it was alright till he went the wrong way on set up and everyone followed!

Interesting to see Button has his mojo back. He said the results would have been much worse had it been a couple of other drivers instead. So he has distanced himself from the dire performances, its all the car!!!
He is saying things like 'Lewis struggled with it more than I did' so thats alright then

Someone is bound to point fingers at Button and Martin at this meeting, however Whitmarsh has already assured us that 'team morale is not a problem'

You couldnt make this stuff up, it gets better and better

The ABH crew have gone strangely silent though, Im sure they will be along to tell us

THERE IS NO PROBLEM AT MCLAREN

Every team has crisis meetings, every team have times when the drivers say there is a problem but the management say theres no problem, just have to understand the tyres and improve, theres no magic, we will bring upgrades and hope for the best!

No, I meant at the meeting. Button might not want to point fingers at anyone there and look like a real fool.

And yeah, suddenly he's happy to throw his team under the bus being vocal about how the car is so bad. I seem to recall a few here saying "Unlike Lewis, Button has a much better character, he never goes against the team, he just gets on with it blah blah blah" well yeah sure.
