It's a well known - but never mentioned - whisper in F1 that Michael Schumacher is only at Merc to develop the car for Nico Rosberg and that Martin Whitmarsh is not a fan of Lewis Hamilton. At least that's according to the PlanetF1 conspiracies.

As the poor sod who gets to spend an hour of her Monday morning after each and every grand prix approving, deleting - shaking her head in wonder, disgust, horror and laughter - Your Say comments I have learnt a thing or two about F1 that I never would have known if it wasn't for the intelligent, well-thought-out, informative comments from readers.

Mercedes really hate Schumacher, Whitmarsh is only for Button and money means nothing to either team.

Yip, there is one thing you can guarantee on a Monday morning after Schumacher's had issues and Hamilton a shocker: the conspiracy theorists are all wearing their tinfoil hats.

Schumacher's Bahrain Grand Prix weekend was effectively ruined by a DRS problem in qualifying that meant he was stuck in the pits while Q1 ended and so too did his afternoon.

But did you know the DRS problem was actually Ross Brawn doing all he could to ensure that Rosberg outqualified Schumacher? Yip, Ross is so determined to see that Schumacher - who he clearly has no affinity for despite their record haul of World titles together and his decision to bring Schumacher out of retirement and into Mercedes - that he would fake a problem to keep Schumacher sitting in the pits.

But it gets even better because just in case Schumacher had the pace to slice through the field, Brawn decided to make his job even hander by changing his gearbox thus pushing him back five additional places.

Talk about a lack of love.

Schumacher, though, isn't the only driver who isn't loved, just ask the Hamilton conspiracy brigade.

Not once but twice on Sunday Whitmarsh organised for the rear wheel man to fake an issue thereby costing Hamilton time and positions.

This - or so I've heard - was done in order to allow Jenson Button to recover from his tardy first stint and edge Hamilton. Because, as all conspiracy theorists know, Whitmarsh picked Button as a McLaren driver but was stuck with Hamilton after his predecessor Ron Dennis locked Hamilton into a long-term contract.

Poor, poor Hamilton.

And while one cannot argue with the tinfoil community - btw Big Brother is watching - I do have one piece of logic to impart and really this is what it boils down to: money.

Formula One is all about the money, just ask Bernie. Money makes the wheels go round it's as simple as that and how do teams earn money? They score points. The more points you have the higher you finish in the Constructors' Championship and the more money you win.

Simple isn't it?

So next time that voice whispers in your head take the time to think on this: some times a mistake is just that - a mistake.

No one's been talking about conspiracy issues for some time in this thread, why bring this up again? :irked:

I dont know what all that conspiracy crap was you posted Bud, sounds like some guy who forgot to take his meds. You insist on there being a conspiracy at McLaren, fair enough, thats your opinion I dont think its anything of the sort. Maybe if I find the time I'll sit and write down all the things that concern me, non of them involve a conspiracy, but then I can say that till I'm blue in the face.

I just found this quote from Hamilton reg the Rosberg manouvre...but can't find the full article:

"He pulled really to the right ... I thought it was Michael for one second"
After being squeezed off the circuit by a Mercedes in Bahrain, Lewis Hamilton admits he was surprised to learn it was his friend Nico Rosberg in the cockpit and not Michael Schumacher

 I must admit, I was suprised Nioco did that! Maybe it was inadvertantly, dont think Nico is a malicious or dirty player.

I'm not sure you fully grasped the tongue-in-cheek tone of that article...

It's a story from Planet F1s admin who has to filter through comments on news stories posted there. It's funny you deny it yet all the time you keep showing the symptoms with your dislike of Whitmarsh, questioning Buttons position in the team, questioning strategies that you claim help Button over Hamilton.

No I dont like Whitmarsh but I dont think he's involved in a conspiracy.

I did realise, just tired of being told I think theres a conspiracy

Regarding the PF1 piece . . . , what a piece of trash. Glad to see it's getting trashed like it deserves over at PF1.

A lot of good thoughts are getting through, however, but can't see that lasting for long, if things continue on the trajectory they are on at the moment. . . . (meaning someone thought it was time to write a derogatory, apologist piece -- but that seems to only have raised more legitimate questions  ).

Regarding the forthcoming suppression of viewpoints in the mainstream outlets, I know of one particularly insightful chap  , who was axed off one leading corporatist site for voicing some well-worded objections to what he saw unfolding after the first race!

In particular, I recall him saying something like: "those cars weren't the same . . . , if you are going to fool with his car, at least make it close . . . ."

Turns out of course, that he was absolutely correct, as Lewis' start program was changed (what else was different, we don't really know, do we?).

And on and on and on it goes. Something strange happens, people start to comment on it, others come along and try to convince discerning fans that they didn't really see what they know they saw. if the outcry becomes unmanageable, the censorship begins. That's how the game is played. . . .

Hats off to Forumula One so far, but maybe you are still just under the radar. If that's the case, expect the voice(s) we know and love here to go by the wayside soon enough. But then again, maybe the way to raise your profile is to let so-called loonies (like me), have their say.

Peace and love, y'all.

Having said all that, I was surprised to hear Lewis say/imply that he didn't know who his left-wheel, pit crew member was. Maybe he meant that he knew the person, but didn't know what all the particular assignments were for that particular race (which would be more understandable)?

But if he didn't know the actual person, that's somewhat of a red flag for me (having played both team and individual sports back in the day) :D . . . . You gotta know who your peeps are.
