Whatever happened to David Richards' Prodrive outfit? They've been notably quiet for a while...

They are suitable given the rules, so like I said, live with it.

Let's keep this civil. Don't tell people to "live with it". It is rude! :nono:

There's a 13th slot available for new teams and I don't see perspective teams bangin' on the door to get into that spot, so I think the argument that they're keeping other teams out is bullcrap!

Any prospective new team will be waiting to see how the new reg's pan out if they know what they are doing. No one has said that they are currently keeping any other team(s) out so there is no need to call someone else's opinion bullcrap. When they were awarded a grid place they were chosen over the likes of Prodrive and Epsilon Euskadi.

I didn't know you were the only one that was allowed an opinion, and you've got a fair bit of nerve calling anyone out for being rude.

Still going, their factory is not too far from me. They ran WRC Minis until very recently, and i think still run GT Aston Martins, plus other smaller projects.

Of course you're allowed an opinion but I'm not tell you that you're opinion is "bullcrap" or telling someone to "live with it" - there is nothing to be gained in what is meant to be a reasoned discussion by trying to belittle someone. I don't think I've got a fair bit of nerve. If I have been rude in the past it has only been towards someone who has behaved in such a manner.

I'd like to see them submit another entry once the new reg's have settled. They've been successful in other series and Dave Richards seems to have his head screwed on right.

I applaud your new found straight and narrow, consistency is key though.

Do you think there's any chance of them having another crack at F1 in the future?

Depends on loads of factors... this new concorde agreement being one. I just have a hunch there might be something about customer cars going on with it. If that hunch proves to be correct (which it probably won't haha) then their chances immediately and dramatically increase. But otherwise, while I think they have the expertise, but then there are a hell of a lot of other outfits similar to Prodrive that are in the same boat so to speak, and it all comes down to money... so that's not really a definite opinion either way but it's all i got :hehe:

They are suitable given the rules, so like I said, live with it. The FIA can change the rules for next year, and any case, I've got a feeling that they may not make it to 2014 when the engine reqs and the major redesign kick in.

The engines are changing but aesthetically the cars will probably look very similar to what we've got now in my view. EDIT: Just checked my facts and apparently Charlie Whiting announced that although the changes to the sporting regulations planned for the 2014 season would effectively remove the "platypus" effect of the noses, the sport's governing body is planning to phase the stepped nose out for 2013.
I imagine all of the teams will be forced to reduce the overall height of the chassis and effectively end up with a McLaren/Marussia-type nose so the cars look better? We can't go back to those dangerous high noses.

Lola have said that they want that 13th slot.

lol op.

Hate on:

BWM
HONDA
TOYOTA

For leaving the sport.

It was a sad day when they decided to leave for sure. :(

Though I kept telling myself BMW came into F1 to get a 1-2 finish in a race, and they achieved it so they left.:hehe:

I'm a little late to the party on this one, but HRT and Karthikeyan were not at fault in either collision, JB messed up his braking and clattered into Karthikeyan and Vettel chopped across the front of the HRT before being sufficiently ahead, just like he did in Turkey 2010 with his team mate. Slower cars have always been part and parcel of F1, the drivers in the top cars should be able to deal with it, Jenson acknowledged that, he made the mistake, didn't account for track conditions and misjudged his approach to the corner suffering the consequences.

If I had a chance to enter a team and I new they were going to be battling Marussia, HRT and Caterham for a few years then I'd still enter them. Sure it'd be great fun.

Teams shouldn't be pressured into being the best. If you see a bunch of lads playing football in the park, with one guy not playing because the others think he's s*** then you'd be calling the other lads pricks for not letting him play.

So why has Karthikeyan admitted that it was his mistake whith Vettel?
