Sorry if this has been posted already. I searched, but didn't find anything.

Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed that Barcelona and Valencia will alternate from 2013 onwards, as both cities look to cut their annual spend during these difficult times.
Speaking to the DPA news agency, Ecclestone made the following comment: "Next year we'll alternate between the two."

Whilst a deal hasn't yet been finalised between the two local governments, both have openly admitted to preferring a race share deal, rather than loosing the event altogether.
Germa Gordo, a government official close to the Barcelona circuit, says the Valencian government is open to discussing the proposal.

"The new Valencian government is willing to evaluate a proposal," he also told DPA.

"The situation of the economy is not the same now as it was a year ago. We have already said publicly that the policy for major events is being reviewed, and alternating would be a good proposal for Formula 1."

The deal is a welcome one for fans, who often describe the races as lacklustre, as well as Ecclestone who needs to find an opening for the 2013 New Jersey GP.

And there was much rejoicing...

I'm quite happy with this, I've always been a bit annoyed that Spain got 2 Grand Prix's.
I guess France will take over the 'European GP' next year?

Word is Belgium and France will alternate. :censored: I'm thinking this will make way for Russia.

What a result that is :D Two of the most dull circuits only around every two years.Valencia is :censored: and shouldn't be there,as for the other the teams know it so well that the racing is always dull.
Surely not a good idea from the dwarf for once

France already have a GP ,no reason they should get another.

Two of my worst tracks diluted by half..excellent news!!

France should have a GP but VERY bad news if Spa has to alternate. Sacrilege!!

Well...having the 2 Spanish tracks alternate is better than having both in the same season, so that's an improvement.

Spa to alternate with ANY other track is an insult to Spa...but knowing Bernie he wouldn't give a sh*t. I won't hold my breath.
