yeah well Melbourne weather is fickle at the best of times, during a time of heavy rains in the region and mass flooding don't hold your breath.

Maybe we're in for a rain-soaked qualifying session, like we had in 2005! That certainly mixed the grid up a fair bit.

I wouldn't mind a wet race to be honest...hopefully one of the Redbulls crashes rear-on with the exhausts breaking into several individual pieces which McLaren can learn from and apply for the future.

You're assuming RB have found a better solution.

:banghead: I had a major migration for a customer scheduled for this Saturday, we've been planning it for months, and we were all set. Well the customer informed me yesterday that they need to push it back a week into next Saturday. How can I find a balance between work and F1?

I'll just orchestrate everything with a lack of sleep, it's not like orchestrating everything while drunk. :hehe:

Bummer, but good luck!! Drink a red bull to help you stay awake :wink::wink:

You could always make it a jagerbomb so that you can be drunk and tired all at once, while supporting red bull at the same time

Anything Adrian Newey has designed is worth a look. Plus, no harm getting ideas...as long as RB doesn't get any.

I'm watching the highlights of qualifying and the race on BBC. On Sunday I'm working until 2pm, so I'll be home at around half past. Perfect time to make tea and toast and enjoy the race in style 8-)

EDIT - Eugh. I work every second Sunday, and it looks like it's the same Sunday as F1 for most of the season. Balls. :(

I think that Vettel will have another insane quali time, like 5 tenths or more on the second place. Just wait and see.

Highly doubt it, preseason testing shown how close it looks up the sharp end unlike last season. Redbull are running their updated car which they didn't get to run very much so it might not be such a walk in the albert park this year.

This year, I think it's the other way around! :)

Willing to put some money on it....?

I bet you £30 Vettle does NOT qualify first.....

Aha, but what about Vettel? Vettle might be second or third. :P

He might do, but I know there is NO WAY he will out qualify everyone by 0.5 seconds.

So sure am I, that Im willing to put some $$$ on it.

Here we go again: http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1/new ... t-is-legal

Ferrari's new Technical Chief Pat Fry believes that if Red Bull's design is approved by Race Director Charlie Whiting, then that will be the design every team uses.

"It comes down to what re-ingested exhaust gas is really and that's a question for Charlie," Fry added.

"I think it's the obvious direction to go in."

Erm, Pat, Red Bull copied Sauber's exhaust and McLaren already have a similar system, so there's 3 teams that have already got that design... Did you attend testing, mate? :cloud9:

Not sure if this has been discussed but:

Ferrari car fix means new crash test

Ferrari is already working on a major chassis modification that could require the F2012 to undergo a new FIA crash test according to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport. The report follows Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo’s alarm at the team’s current situation, with Fernando Alonso expecting Ferrari will have to “suffer” early this season based on recent track testing results.

“I would like to understand why and above all understand how we can very quickly make the necessary changes,” said Montezemolo at the Geneva Motor Show.

Gazzetta said the modification is to the 2012 car’s sidepod area.

Meanwhile, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner told BBC radio on Wednesday that the team will take its updated car to Melbourne, despite its reliability and apparent handling problems at the final Barcelona test.

Don't mean to be harping on about Ferrari but it seems they have taken the winter testing f*ck up trophy of 2012. McLaren took 2011's. Hopefully Redbull will be next in 2013. :P

Ferrari dismissed reports that they are making modifications to the new car's chassis that are potentially significant enough to require a new crash test.

Nothing on the f1 website either about a new crash test.
