Classic Mika moment. 8)

Mika's got a f*ckin cheek having an opinion on anything. He left F1 because he said it had become too dangerous. His opinion matters as much as a cup of coffee in the desert. The only 3 drivers that have raced in the last ten years that opinions I will take notice of are Ice cool Kimi - the current world champ. The enigmatic and F1 's most entertaining and intriguing driver EVER - the 2 time world champ and only man who could stop the greatest - Fernando Alonso. Then the pinnacle of F1 history - the most decorated and talented man ever to get behind the whell of ANY automobile -

I guess Mr Hughes forgets a little event that gives Mika more right than about 99.999999999999% of the planet's population to give an opinion on F1 safety. Even without it, I'd say he was in a position to know enough about all the teams to have enough authority to have an opinion.

He never drove for Ferrari, so his insights on that team wouldn't be first hand.

Besides which, I should have said this the last time it was posted, he can't be construed to be dissing Ferrari at all just by that giggle. He was more likely merely expressing how loaded the question was. A move from one big team to another for a champion is big news, and the whole idea would elicit a lot of oohs and ahhs regardless of the team in question. It seems that Italian journalist WISHED mika would drive for his beloved Ferrari too.

That is a good way of looking at it, although it would have been interesting to see Mika in a Ferrari taking on Michael. Considering Schumacher him self said (or at least implied) Mika was his most respected opponent (after saying the 2000 World Championship was the most satisfying)

Mika Hakkinen 2 time F1 World Champion
You - 0 time F1 world Champion

His opinion is of more worth than yours because he has raced and raced extremely well in F1 for many years

MS would never have allowed Mika to be on the team with him. Only willing #2s allowed.

Hi Guys,

That's me back from Christmas and I'm thoroughly looking forward to 2008.I hope you all had a nice time(even Bud and Racechick). Did anyone see the F1 2007/2008 review yesterday on ITV?I think you will all agree a certain change in attitude from Martin Brundle and Steve Rider was clear for all to see. It seems as if they must browse this site themselves and have taken note of some of my opinions I have on them. FINALLY they seem to be showing some kind of humility and are now realising that there are OTHER sportsmen competing and not just Englishmen
