Anyone mind if I invoke Goodwin's Law?

Goodwin's Law? What's that - don't build your house on sand?

He can shut his laptop.

Looking for Vettel to struggle in spa. The cars are almost equal now.

McLaren talking up their prospects. Ferrari and Red Bull eerily quiet.

You can put as much silly bias bullcrap down to the weather conditions and what not, you dont have Mclaren fighting Vettel in a Red Bull for pole at Hungary of all tracks and then being all over them in race pace for nothing.

That car is hard to update because its the best from the start, Mclaren are good at half "term" updates and Ferrari were good at this in 2010 particularly,

I think Mclaren have the better car now, and i think unless its really hot races, maybe if its hot in India for example theyll finish behind red bull and or ferrari, but the rest of the tracks i see them being the better car.

Whats for certain is that the races will at least be crackers to the end, even if it is Vettels, but then i still think hes due a DNF, at least one, and i can only see Hamilton being the one to get the win when that happens, and subsequently be the sole challenger to the title.

I just hope for races like Germany and Hungary (although not the Mclaren strategy in Hungary...) and im sound as a pound.

That's just good common sense unless you're building a beach hut, which by it's very nature requires to be on a beach which tend to have sand.

Rumour has it McLaren's new-found pace came from hiring Hiroshi Imai, who until 2009 was chief engineer for Bridgestone tyre's F1 division. He discovered some mod to prevent the brakes transferring so much heat to the tyres.

If I know it, Chris Horner and Adrian Newey do too.

They better, because that's the only way to cut into Vettel's 90 point lead.

Hate to admit it but I think you and some others are right in Mclaren having the best car now. Should be a good fight to the end of the season. Too bad they didn't find this pace earlier or there wouldn't be a 90pt lead. Mclaren take Spa and Monza 1-2 each race. Well, maybe Ferrari sticks Alonso in 2nd at Monza.

Hard to believe anything about this, if thats what their pace has come from, then they would not of let it known. Unless two things:

Its yet another stupid mistake from Mclaren in somehow letting this slip

The other teams like Red Bull, who dont have heating issues, are already doing it.

It doesnt make sense that this news would come out, full stop.

It was reported a while ago that they had an ex-Bridgestone guy but are Bridgestone tyres not going to be quite a bit difficult from Pirelli tyres? I'm struggling to work out just how much of their improvement can be attributed to this Bridgestone chap. Sure he will have given some insight into working the tyres but the Bridgestones and Pirellis behave differently.

I think your both being a bit naive, Vettel is certainly going to win this years title,

First, they have to get him averaging third every race where say Hamilton has to finish every one first, and only then will he just manage to beat him.

Secondly, Mclaren have to get every remaining race right strategy wise, thats a huge ask, theyve made about 20 muck ups so far this year, cant afford to make any more

Thirdly, Vettel hasnt suffered any retirement this year, some will say hes due one (i hope so) but chance doesnt look at past events, its a new dice roll every race, and i dont there going to have many more, this is not to mention Mclaren have to finish the race he doesnt. Or indeed any more throughout the rest of the year.

Everything that could possibly favour Vettel this year has done, thats why his point advantage is so large, undisuted number 1 status, best car, most reliable car, quickest pit crew, best strategies.

Unless he really mucks it up when put in the field, which i must say he does tend to do, theres no chance of overhauling Vettel this year. Bit of a dreamers idea for me.

Knowing about something and being able to implement it are two different things. "flexi front wing".

Or it might be another diversion. You never know...two (or more) can play at that game.

All I know is we have to McLaren-esque tracks coming up back to back....so rock on!!

No DRS through Eau Rouge in qualies, which they should have called the anti-Vettel rule, as he makes most aggressive use of it in qualies.

I think the same, mate! The cars now are so much safer, they just don't want him to show just how brave he could be...
