Well you said he should have waited which would have caused all 4 cars behind him to go onto the grass as he was directly in the middle of the track and there isn't exactly much room at that part of the track when you have a car stuck in that postion.

Was a good race today...was nice to see Jenson on the podium for his 200th gp

Was a little disspointed with what happened with Hamilton....but i guess i can deal with it

I would of course liked to have seen Vettel further down the 2nd but nope he decides hes gonna make the gap wider for the WDC

Alonso for me kinda had a queit race but was consistant (i was hoping that he would spin in the last couple of laps)

Anyway....was a good race.....enjoyed it....the bbc did great coverage again

Well you said he should have waited which would have caused all 4 cars behind him to go onto the grass as he was directly in the middle of the track and there isn't exactly much room at that part of the track when you have a car stuck in that postion.

The Lotus and Williams got past when he was still facing teh wrong way and I don't think they were on the grass. It was only the Force India that went on the grass to avoid a swinging McLaren.

The Lotus and Williams got past when he was still facing teh wrong way and I don't think they were on the grass. It was only the Force India that went on the grass to avoid a swinging McLaren.

Watch the link you posted again they only got through without going on the grass because Hamilton did the burnout, if you watch the Lotus's line he was going to put atleast 2 wheels onto the grass to get past.

No. Look at the footage again (on previous page in this thread). All he needed to do was drive this little bit to the other side of the track (which he did in his doughnut maneuver, but should have stopped there before spinning back around), basically getting out of the racing line. That's all. By spinning around, he took up the entire track and forced Di Resta onto the grass.

Well Di Resta was the only 1 affected by the burnout and he did say he didn't see him, believe Hamilton or don't i would guess you and Andrew would instantly choose not to going off previous attitudes towards him.

But anyway not saying he wasn't in the wrong or that he didn't deserve the penalty but in that position i doubt many drivers would have done it differently.

No one is spouting hatred. We are just discussing an incident. Besides, this is very tame compared with some of the pish that gets flung at Vettel.

There have been similar incidents and on most occasions the driver waits until the traffic has passed. Hamilton in his eagerness to get on with the race was a bit too quick to get going. Just one of those things, accept it and move on. Hamilton has is his post race interview is anything to go by.

I do think he could have recoverd with a bit more care. However judging from his post-race interview I think he handled himself very well. I agree with Edie Jordan in that the Hamilton today and the hamilton from the start of the season seem like two different people.

with ferrari, Massa always backs down when Fernando comes around behind him.. with Mclaren, they usually duke it out. Gotta love it. Of course tho it comes with risks.

Alonso did get past Massa very easily. When I say easily, I mean that Massa jumped out of the way. Pretty obvious what the Ferrari policy on this sort of thing.

Great drive from JB today,I can't take anything away from him for today performance but it's becoming worrying as a long term JB fan that he only seems to be able to win in changeable conditions. LH was unlucky with his penalty; last season that would have been ignored but the investigate every incident mentality meant a penalty was always forthcoming. But was really ruined his race was the decision to switch to inters, McLaren really jumped the gun on that; JB said that he was comfortable on the soft slicks despite the shower so chose to ignore the call to come in. Again I was disappointed with Mercedes,had a great start, upto forth and fifth in the first few corners then dropped back almost immediately. I'm happy for Paul di Resta for scoring a good haul of points after so many finishes in eleventh, even more impressive as his team mate finished 14th after starting from eighth while di Resta went from eleventh to seventh. Hats off to Sebastian Buemi who started in 23rd finish ahead of his team who started seven places ahead of him. Rather annoyingly Vettel extended his lead because his closest rival didn't win!

The person that is second in the drivers table... which seems to be like musical chairs right, the drivers title is in flux with the exception of Vettel on top of the pile!
