Hey, what is the deal with all this Vettel sucks thing ??

He had an 'average' weekend, finished P4 and kept his solid lead in the championship (or actually increase it?). he had a aspin in a tough corner, weird conditions, brake problems, weak weekend and with less-than-perfect set up.... he didnt even lose position from that spin.

Its not like he crashed himself pointlessly out of the race.

Bottom line is: Vettel is doing and has done what it takes for him to win the championship. Who here is qualified enough to label his drives "worthy of a champion" or not?

yeah, i more or less get it... but to me it was just an average drive on a weak weekend... nothing more. I've seen worse.

No one's qualified. The thing is there is 1 guy claiming it unreservedly and I am among a few who is flabbergasted as to wonder which part of Vettel's driving last Sunday was 'A Champ's drive'. If that was a Champ's drive, Sutil should be a multiple WDC by now.

yeah, i more or less get it... but to me it was just an average drive on a weak weekend... nothing more. I've seen worse.

It's been my understanding the his average was winning races from pole to pole, given some of the fervor, anything less can be seen as less than spectacular. I don't think there is anyone posting Vettle sucks rants and if they are, then it's their opinion. (as misguided as it may be) I think what's being discussed is bringing into question the same think that's often called into question from Hamilton's fans, that he's god and can do no wrong. So using the standards of Silverstone, Hamilton as Vettel both ended up on the same position in the last two GPs, yet you could hardly compare the quality of the drives to achieve those same positions.

The only thing we can take away from last weekend is that Vettel had a sub par drive based on his results this year. Whatever the reason for those results, isn't what's being discussed, just the result itself.

I think what's being discussed is bringing into question the same think that's often called into question from Hamilton's fans, that he's god and can do no wrong. So using the standards of Silverstone, Hamilton as Vettel both ended up on the same position in the last two GPs, yet you could hardly compare the quality of the drives to achieve those same positions.

Hamilton picked up a few places, in a "comeback to form" weekend. With no issues from the car, even his teammate ran as high as P2 on a so-so weekend for him. Furthermore, LH needed those places much more than Vettel needed even the Massa position

Not really my argument... matter of facto, i never even mentioned Hamilton. But now that you guys have artfully managed to bring him in to this argument... in the list of un-Championesque drives, he's got quite a few more on Vettel. So honestly, I understand that's kind of a lost battle not worth going into.

And yet... I'm sure the brigade will rebutte with a good number of posts, starting from Germany and innevitably dating back to the Alonso days. Predictable... and annoying as it has become.

After some further thought, I have to say I am downgrading Seb's ability to overtake. He doesn't seem to know how to put his car in the right place to have the opportunity. There were several times where he was in striking distance of Massa and even getting alongside, but he was never in a position to finish it off. Also on the first lap in turn 3, he couldn't finish off Alonso when he was ahead coming out of the turn. He backed off massively for the next turn.

I am willing to chalk some of this up to discretion is the better part of valour and trying to limit the damage to his championship. But the fact he couldn't position himself to pull off the move speaks to his inability to pass more.

I still consider him top 3 with Hamilton and Alonso on outright talent, but he does need more time in the mid-field to build his F1 passing skills.

For the very FIRST time LH,FA and SV had equally performing cars!!!

Lewis showed why he's Lewis. It's not the same winning with nobody in front,nobody chasing with a faster car,THAN having to actually RACE!
