So much pain, so much cynicism. It's a shame because you deserve better.

Are you being sarcastic or patronising?

Do you consider me a "hater"? Admittedly, I have not made an emotional investment in Hamilton, and at times I do offer up criticism. But funny thing, maybe we have more in common than anyone would consider. Once upon a time, my favorite driver was Gilles Villeneuve. And just like Lewis, he was blindingly quick, exciting, and someone that could easily be admired. And at that time, when Gilles did screw up, I was outraged that criticism followed. But the truth is, he did screw up occasionally, and sometimes in a magnificent manner. Did you hear that, me, a Gilles fan taking it on the chin and admitting when he did screw up? And why would I do such a treacherous and treasonable act to my hero? Because there are much worse things.

Having read the entire post and gone back to this paragraph i feel your on the same level as i am at least in waking up and smelling the coffee with how the F1 love/hater world works, not least because you claim to be able to ignore all this stuff, that your experienced and your giving me a lesson, and then you have the cheek to tell me stuff like ive bolded when your twenty posts into your tenure in this forum and you have no clue as to what kind of supporter i am, infact you cant of known until recently that i was even a Hamilton fan, maybe youve just presumed so, but im telling you whether you believe it or not, i could be a fan of only Adrain Sutil id still think the hate towards Hamilton is greater then anyone elses and unjustified in its definition. If you werent wrong enough in this respect already you should have a gander at my previous posts, by no means does Hamilton get off lightly just because i am a fan, and i dont just say yeah he was wrong there and try and shift his poor episode under the carpet, ive been quite vicious with him. Its like a mothers tough love you see. No i dont consider you a hater, but you have time to prove otherwise, and it will come out, there are some very, VERY crafty buggers on here that claim neutrality but are absolute snakes. They know who they dont like and they avoid warnings and such by being expert baiters. If you are a hater it will be obvious one day or another.

You think it's bad when some clod makes ugly sounds against Lewis? That is nothing, it pales into insignificance of zero when you wake up, and read the headlines on the papers that state that he just got killed. Trust me, if you get a bad feeling when you read comments directed against Lewis, I hope and pray that you never have to go through the kind of crap I had to endure.
It's a reality check, when all of a sudden your world has changed forever, and what seemed important and worthy of righteous indignation really is doody squat compared to the harsh realities of life.

I think ive worked out your still talking about Gilles. Sorry to hear that of course, but its all relative, i shouldnt have to shy away from moaning about super-harsh attacks on Lewis because some fans had their driver killed back in the day, as much worse a death of a driver is. As for the harsh realities of life bit, Im pretty sure most people on here take this forum as a very trivial part of their life, whilst they may love F1 to death as i do, the moment ive logged off i dont think much about what people say until im back on here in the F1 debating mood. I cant be blamed for "moaning" that i shouldnt have to come on here to talk with other fans without idiots spouting crap, its still a nuisance no matter how unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

But sadly, there are uninformed people camped out on both sides of the fence. There are people who know absolutely nothing about racing yet throw in their opinion and criticism of Lewis for maybe the only reason is that they can (thanks to the net). And there are others who appear to have minimal comprehension of racing, yet make all kinds of weird and luducrous statements that only undermine and dilute the informed opinions of fans of Lewis.

These are the two extremes, and in my opinion, should be ignored by all. Somewhere in the middle, between the extremes is the truth, the reality, and the ability to exchange opinions without having to go to war each time.

Spot on, but awful idealist

Neither. From your post I saw something and commented on it. I'm not going to attempt to be patronizing because it would be an insult to your intelligence. And if I was sarcastic, then I was messing with your emotions and uncaring about the human being you are.

No, I just care about others. And on that note, I do hope you enjoy this weekend's race.

What lewis sez
"It would massively suck if i only won one world title. It would feel like a waste of so many years. A lot of people say it's just about participating, but it's not. I want to win. It's all I care about, it's what I live for."

There speaks a passionate young man. Doesn't that just give you goose bumps! So he gets it wrong occassionally; but give me passion over corporate identity any day!

Why does everyone that doesn't support or dislikes someone become a 'hater'? I don't hate anyone, Lewis Hamilton included; I respect his abilities as a driver but sometime question whether he uses his head when driving and really dislike his attitude calling stewards and other drivers stupid; that shows a complete lack of respect for others. Doesn't matter whether it's said in the heat of the moment or not; it's unacceptable, downright disrespectful and insulting for others. It is possible to speak his mind without the insults and stupid remarks, joke or not!

If you all want to believe I am a 'hater' go right ahead; but that isn't the case!

Dislike, hate, unfond-of, its all the same.

It doesnt help that you "respect his abilities" and nothing more, hed have to lap the field 20 times before some people said he was anything more then "good", but when Lewis does something wrong, well then its like flies on a carcass.

You can see how people would find anyone that isnt a fan of Hamilton as a hater, they are more often then not, all the same.

Theyll whisper acknowledgement of a exceptional driver, sorry, an ok driver, but being the pessimists they are its when the bad stuff Lewis does happens which has them yap yap yap on like theres no tomorrow.

Itd be nice if someone said, i think Hamiltons an amazing driver, his overtaking is second to none and hes beaten a two time world champion and another world champion in the same car, BUT, i dont really like his personality and as a result i dont support him.

Not, I acknowledge (as though you could possibly deny it without looking a fool) his talent, but i think his personality is the most important part of being an F1 driver, and for that reason, i have officially declared war on him and all his fans.

Dislike, hate, and being unfond of someone are all entirely different things, nobody needs to do anything more than respect his abilites, why would they? I dont think anybody here would seriously dismiss Hamiltons ability on the track, but his conduct, choice of words, constant blaming of stewards and other drivers for his own errors just makes him look petty and immature, i am a fan of Lewis Hamilton but he needs to learn that even if he believes what he says, he cannot shoot off his mouth as it just leads to controversy, and is pointless anyway.

The only reason that this is such a constant talking point is that people recognise his talents and that as a result expect better or as the saying goes " for those that much is given, much is expected" he can also be forgiven for his temprament, as many great talents also have great flaws.

A flaw?? I dont think he has a flaw.

Don't think about it too much, you'll go crazy. You're here arguing for something that you're not guilty of yourself, I believe you when you say you don't hate Hamilton, I also note that you're not here going out of your way to make derogatory comments about the guy at every opportunity as some do. It's not limited to Hamilton, The same is done to Vettel, to Alonso, it's just that Hamilton happens to be the most "visible" hence every effing thread here with any kind of controversy and him goes 50 pages long with the same things said on both sides.

Then there are those that because someone does support or like Hamilton... or Vettel, or Alonso, they're labeled as fanboys. So the problme exists at both ends of the spectrum, yet the middle of the road people (like you and I) are left to try and make sense or rationalize the lunacy of extremes.

To each his own, and more power to you if you're a fan of the most favorite or the least favorite driver on the grid, just don't beat people over the head because they don't necessarily agree with the choices you make. (this last comment is to the population at large) :hehe:

Like Lewis, I couldn't give much of a toss.

I just like watching Lewis continue pounding his teammate into the ground in majority of races per season, and hope for 1 day again....for McLaren to provide him a car to win another WDC. It's criminal a talent like him only has 1 to his name to date. Much like how its criminal that a sad story like Kimi only has 1 as well and now playing giant bumper cars in some lowly series most have never heard of.

Don't feel too bad about Kimi... he can't care too much about it himself if he walked away. Like the NY Lotto says, you gotta be in it, to win it.
#264523
I dont feel bad for him, its just a sad story when he's worth a 3X WDC really. I hope Lewis doesn't end up being another of those. :hehe:

Who knows... he's already driven a NASCAR rig.
