Hey, lets take a chill pill guys, let's keep it civil too OK..........

I honestly think he is struggling where he doesn't have the reverence, or 'aura' he once had.

As for not enjoying his racing, I've yet to meet a top line driver (in any category), who enjoys anything other than racing with a chance of winning. At the very least they don't take being smoked by their teammate too well either.....

Sure, the car, isn't there yet, and in any form of motorsport, it doesn't take much in carspeed to make you look famous. He is also is finding out, a touch off the pace, and you look the fool. I also feel that racing from the front, his wheel to wheel racecraft isn't the best. Previously, he was normally diving inside backmarkers, and passed others by bullying them out of the way. He's seen now, the young guys will dive in from miles back, and give you a tap just to make sure, as they elbow you out of the way. The junior formulas (normally one design, and so even) are just so cut throat, with desperate driving, that its all these guys know. Michael and Rubens are from a different generation (that's the big point), but Rubens has evolved in the meantime.

True, put him in a Red bull, and with confidence, he would be up there, but I feel either Vettel, or Webber would still have him covered. In any team with the same equipment, your teammate is your immediate comparator, and Nico has him on toast. Now, Nico in a Red Bull, hmmmmm......

Remember, in all his time in F1, except for Jordan in '91, he was ALWAYS in a car that was capable of winning a Grand Prix. That makes your life easier than in the desperate midfield. In a sense, Schuey is really serving his midfield apprenticeship belatedly....

Regardless of his speed, I believe his experience in the garage is priceless to help Mercedes get up front. His role as a leader, understanding how a team is structured to achieve success, how to ask the team, and suppliers to get the changes needed to the car, is worth putting up with his relative pace. No doubt, Nico will learn heaps about this aspect, as I'm sure Rubens did, when his was alongside Schuey at Ferrari. In any case, having a standout driver on track (Nico) makes it easier to concentrate on one car when a decision on parts or development is concerned.

I think he will see out his 3 years, and if he can't see a change in his fortunes the following year, he'll call it a day, and retire, with a slightly tarnished reputation.....

I don't think it true for his early Ferrari years.

and ignore mr, his ignorance is all I would expect from a texan

One of the most stupid, racist and inane comments I've read here. If the mods do nothing with this, hell, then this forum might as well be considered unmoderated.

Geetface9 has been issued with a warning for the below reason(s); it was unprovoked and we don't need that sort of comment on the forum!

* Personal insults, including derogatory names of F1 drivers.
* Sexism, ageism, racism, including nationalistic, religious and sexual orientation intolerance

That's a hell of a thing to say after repeatedly emphasising his willingness to see out his contract!!

I would expect him to either be kicked out, or fulfill his contract and then retire. If he retires before that he'll just look like a real loser.

Come on Mr Legend...give it your best shot, if it doesn't work out at least you still tried.

Hear Hear.

Though not a fan of his antics, I always reserved respect for MS. He won 7 titles and achieved countless records - like him or not, or say what you wish as to how he got those accolades (as you can Vettel's) he's still pretty darn good I reckon.

I was excited by his comeback, but slightly disappointed by his results so far - but good on him for giving it a shot! What I don't like is that he's brought back his dirty-tactics again especially when a car which is clearly faster tries to overtake. A 'gesture' and other ramifications would be given if a HRT did the same.

Ahh, hang on, he won 3 races in 1996 alone, and put it on pole at 3 races as well........This in a car they called average.....

OK, in the rain in Spain, he spanked the field, using a 'wet' setup when everyone had a dry setup on, but at Monza and Belgium, he had genuine pace.

Yes, he drove his backside off to do it, but the car had genuine winning pace. This year you've seen the same man, in a car that is about 1 second off the pace, left floundering. Yes, a great driver can carry a car, but I believe there is 4-5 tenths in that, maximum.....

Time for MS to move on I think. Hasn't done anything eye catching since he has been at Mercedes and Nico has been taken him to the cleaners at most weekends.

If MS doesn't fill a Mercedes seat in 2012 i think Di Resta or Hulkenberg could snatch that seat.

I think a somewhat throwaway comment (Schu basically expressing his displeasure for races such as the one he had in Turkey) has been massively over emphasised by the media here...

As a Mercedes fan I'm dissapointed in the car and Schumi. Schumi has had more than a year to get used to the modern era, and his style just doesn't suit this era of F1 I'm afraid. But it's not like Mercedes have given him a good car. Sure it is their only 2nd year, but if they aren't challening with Ferrari/McLaren/Red Bull every weekend then they're failing and I cant see that changing for awhile. They're too quick for a mid-field team...but too slow to be a contender...and as a fan that's annoying. You can't hope for better than average result because there is no way they can top the other 3 teams. So every weekend you're hoping the mid field teams aren't quicker than you.

I think Merc should start building the team around Rosberg and give Di Resta/Hulkenberg the 2nd seat and most importantly make the car quick!

I think you hit the nail on the head and for those who are disecting MS's current progress just look at his record and remember this....... he came back for the love of sport NOT to prove anything, his record speaks for it's self.

Blah blah blah  put all the blame on MS and to even utter the nonsensical idea that "his style just doesn't suit this era of F1 I'm afraid" is complete nonsense.

Hardly nonsense. As someone mentioned before. Schumacher "bullied" drivers out of the way. But with the junior ranks so cut throat now guys will dive in from a mile back.

And putting all the balme on Schumi? I've always been a huge fan and I'm equally dissapointed in Mercedes efforts with the car

Screw what has been mentioned about bullying tactics MS ever did as I know every member here has a favorite driver who is just as guilty. As far as the car is concerned I'm rather chuffed aswell but hey it is racing, one or two years you are a star and then can become a backmarker 'has been'.

G'day mate! :D

Every driver has "bullied" another on track, no doubt. I'm just saying Schumi's style of is as no longer effective because the the younger geneartion take a lot more risks on the tracks.

Crikey! Got to go...those bloody Crocs are loose again! :P
