Scarbs is Tweeting that some team wants to change it's side impact protection. This would mean re-homolgation normally not allowed, unless you can convince the FiA it's needed for safety or reliability reasons. Basically would allow a redesign of sidepods (especially the front area).

I think the best design out there are the moment is Mclarens, the front profile is tiny.

I would imagine Merc, as they have complained about heat problems

Interesting to put a name to it. Safety would be blowing smoke, reliability would be more believable, but I think chances would be pretty good those new side pods also come with a redesigned side or front exhaust.
