I dont think bringing Coughlan back is a bad idea, it is not as if he we a bad engineer, and if your at the back with no good ideas then no one will want to buy them of him.

He was never bought out...Nigel Stepney GAVE the ideas to Coughlan on a silver platter, not the other way around.

didn't they both turn up at Honda asking for a job with the dossier? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsp ... 278738.stm
So yes your right, he will never go elsewhere with peoples secrets

Sam Michael was promoted back in the day, at BMW's request, to better results. Agree that since then the team has been mediocre. In another team he would have been moved on long ago. I think since '06, he has been simply treading water. The failure of this years quite aggressive design was the nail in the coffin.

As for Coughlin, this can only be good for them. The man was caught, and served his penalty. He has been involved in some of the best cars in F1, so his skills are undoubted. Being away for 3 years isn't a big deal. The basis of F1 hasn't fundamentally changed. He will be brought up to speed with design trends etc. In fact a fresh set of ideas might allow the team to move forward. I really rate the guy for his abilities.

Now they have to find a good aerodynamicist to replace Tomlinson. Time to give Egbal Hamidy a call I think......

Williams have been on the downhill slide since BMW left as some others have already mention, Infact they have been getting worse year by year. I can't really see williams really improving that much in years to come but hopefully they can get back up to the pointy end of the field.
