Button is indeed much better in handling the Pirelli tyres...

No he isnt. He was bettr on the hards but he was also tinkering with his set up. Lewis was better on the softs.

That's debatable.

Lewis messed his tyres on every stint.
During the strugle with Heidfeld on start, later in the last corner, and so on...

Keep telling yourself that... he was within 3 seconds of Vettel and the second set of primes did him in, there was clearly a problem with those as he had to come in after about 7 or 8 laps again for a 3rd set of primes. Otherwise he would have been breathing down Vettel's neck.

I wonder if Lewis was just having problems with the hard tyres in general. He could definately match Vettel when they were both on the soft but he kinda drifted away once he put hards on, and Jenson said the car felt better on hards so I think its something to do with the setup Lewis had

i think so.

No it was clearly a problem with the 2nd set of primes... he was posting 43's with those, and when he came back in for the 3rd set, he was back down to the 41's.

Was that the stop where the tyres took a long time to come off and he went out into traffic? I'll have to get a copy of the race and rewatch how all this stuff unfolded today. It was a very interesting GP

Yep. The third set came after he and Alonso "touched".

Boop!

(Archer reference... No?)

.

Everything is debateable  Lewis used the softs better in quali and looked to be doing so early in the race

He was slow on those hards before Alonso hit him though, its the whole reason Alonso was close enough to hit him

Hmmm 2 drivers with notabably different styles and they each prefer a different tyre type who would have thought....

Well, they will have to work even harder to figure out how to avoid the same problems happening again. Untill then, Vettel will keep winning!

I thought you only get three sets of each type of tire. Did he use one set twice?

He has soft, soft hard hard hard
