Hey guys,

I live in Bahrain, but due to the protests lately F1 had been postponed. Can anybody what is the new date of the grand prix?

It has yet to be rescheduled.

If it's even taking place, yes, the date is yet to be decided. It'll likely fall around the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix if it takes place. However, don't hold your breath.

I've been to every F1 race in Bahrain. I just hope that it will continue again this year.

What's the actual atmosphere at Sakhir during F1 weekend? Everyone says that it looks so bland and boring on TV but what's it actually like at the place?

It is actually hot in Sakhir. Never remembered a decent weather at Sakhir. As for the looks it is pretty good. The GP is kept clean and tidy at all times.

F1 is Bahrain's most important sport event, without it there will be a huge loss for the country.

At this rate, the answer could be "Never." The story linked below claims the government is torturing the doctors who gave aid to the anti-government protesters. I will not post any of its content owing to its graphic nature. Follow the link at your own peril.

Are the people of Bahrain under the impression that the GP is still going ahead?

Who knows what gamecock and bull story Bernie night have been feeding them.

This sounds like some improvement:

Bahrain's king orders end to emergency law
11 May 2011

Bahrain's king set a fast-track timetable to end martial law-style rule on Sunday in a bid to display confidence that authorities have smothered a pro-reform uprising even as rights groups denounced the hard-line measures....

Then again, it is a king's privilege to change his mind ...again.
