I'm just gutted with McLaren's problems.....three years waiting for them to make a competitive car and nothing... if the drivers say the car is not ready then it's clear that it's not ready.
You say be positive and they'll get back on track, and I do believe they have a chance to compete with Ferrari and RB in midseason but seriously, remind me the last time when a team
won a championship after being a clear third in the beginning of the season?

They still have enough time, but they have to work like insane! :)
I think Lewis and Jenson will score many points, but, will it be enough?! In a car like this, with small amount of test laps...

Our saving grace Mclaren fans is a few things:

1) this is testing and we may be closer to the front then it looks
2) the car may have massive unrealised yet potential
3) if every lap of data is as important as they make out, australia and malaysia practice could well be sacrificed to gain this much needed data, sure they cant put systems on their car but the timings will be enough.
4) we have two world champion drivers in the cars....

Maybe I am way off base and I am basing this idea on the start of 2010, and that is the only time I watched formula currently, but didn't alot of the teams, even the big dogs seem to get off to a rough start and were all dealing with little hiccups and system perfections? I mean for christ's sake Vettel's engine just crapped out on him on the first race. :hehe: We had F-Ducts being managed with legs lol. :director: I also thought mclaren went one race with an fduct and one with out, that may have just been strategy though as I think that was late in the season.

To me though it really felt like teams were still in a learning curve with the new machines.

So could it be this is just needless worrying anyway?

All teams have some difficulties, sure, but to win you just need to have less problems than the other teams. And it looks at this still early stage, Mclaren have more than some of the top teams.

"As long as we pick up a good few points in the first few races, then we won't be miles behind.

"Say for example we were able to be in the top five for the first three or four races, get those points, and then if we happen to have a car capable of winning, then it would still be possible.

"So I'm definitely not shutting the year off. Everything is still to play for."

Hamilton claimed he was not concerned about the situation because there was nothing he can do to rectify it.

As I said, they will have to work 110%, and hope they can be good enough! It's really stupid to launch the car that late...

Well, everyone was saying how great he was when he was in a championship running car..... most if not all drivers have to deal with that, so i guess its only fair.

I'm sure they'll be able to get some results, but there's some mighty looking teams seemingly able to give the fight behind the top cars... it might not be that easy with Mercedes, Renault and possibly Sauber and Toro Rosso in the mix for points.
