Are RBR sandbagging?

at a point they say "rumour has it.... he did a really fast lap with about 20kg"..... if they are basing their conclusion on "rumour has it".... well, rumour has a lot of things.

But yeah..... Red Bull are definitely sandbagging. They sandbagged all yr last season and still won the 2 CC's. Dont see any reason to do anything different. Except not allow their drivers to crash on track

The only guys needing to "show" how fast they can be are those needing sponsors..... unfortunately they are the same guys whose cars break down before they can set a hot lap at all...

So the only testing left in pre-season is the 4 days that were to take place in Bahrain, being moved back to Barcelona. No additional testing dates added whatsoever?

Pitpass has reported the dates have changed from the 8-11 to 9-12. F1SA is reporting some teams will do 8-11 and other teams 9-12 (meaning practice will be at Barcelona for 5 days). But either way teams have 4 days practice left before the 1st race in Melb.

Here's a complete set of lap times from what i believe was one single race simulation for each of the Merc guys, you can see just how the tyres are falling away and just how incredibly slow race paces are likely to be this season (think Singapore might hit the 2 hour time limit quite easily)... and also that perhaps Schumacher has the car a lot more to his liking now? Just throwing it out there... don't flame me for it.

This is one thing I like about the rapidly deteriorating tyres - it will show once and for all that Jenson is a master at 'conserving' tyres = MYTH.

He's just slow...and 2011 will prove it.

You're forgetting that temperatures during the testing season are well below the actual operating window for the rubber and, as such, cause increased deterioration of the tyres. I think we're looking at two stops being the norm, with three stops at certain events (perhaps the early races if they get particularly hot, and Canada), as the harder compounds are still reasonably durable, but not to the excessive level that the Bridgestones were. Things won't be the same during the season as they were in testing.
