I made this thread here cause its F1 related but really just a flash in the pan lol, interesting though.
Anyway i went out for a night on the tiles this friday just gone, and the most weird amazing (to me anyway) thing happened that i thought was one of those really strange coincidenceds that just make you wonder.
I was already drunk and it must of been about half 11 as i went for my 60th urination of the night, and i cant remember how exactly i got talking to anyone in the bloody toilets but im sure given how much i keen F1 and how plastered (drunk for the yanks) i was i must of heard his accent and just hoped for the best, there was this kid in there not much odler then me maybe 20-22, and i asked him if he was spanish and he said yeah and i got into this massive long convo with him in the toilets about whos better Hamilton or Alonso ( ill let you guess who took whos side) anyway we argued this for about half an hour before i had a crowd of 5 people all pissed in the toilets arguing drunkenly over whos better Hamilton or ALonso, it was literally the highlight of my life! Its always good to actually meet these people you never get to talk to without it being hating and he was really alright about it all, he admitted Hamilton has an immense talent as i did for Alonso but he absoutely hated Mclaren for 2007 lol. Anyway for being such a cool cat even after i jokingly called Alonso a "puto" i shook his hand and bought him a round of this spanish beer just for being an absolute legend! i never asked but i figure he went to a local university because a spaniard in little hertford town was really random....
The other story is my gran looks after the Japanese exchange students that go the the flurry of language based schools around, theyre usually closest to my age and being A level standard graded in Japanese and theleast nervous around strangers i naturally get to know them better. This Japanese was same age as me 18, and even more strangely like the spanish kid was a huge F1 fan aswell, his english was really good and he said that despite the lack of Japanese companies etc the love of F1 is very much still there in Japan, and the arrival of Kamui, who he and i both admire lol has given Japanese F1 a new sense of achieving. His favourite driver was Lewis n KK cause he "remind me of Senna"
.
Just thought id share those interesting little stories with you all. I think especially in the Spanish case it further provens that both sides are pretty cool about it on an individual basis, but the moment it becomes a single agenda crowd versus another, thats when the fanboyish hating starts.
