So Kubica setting the pace today is or isn't an indicator yet whether this thing is working or not?

It's proof it's fundamental design works well But it's too early to judge to see if it's a game breaker!

Having had a think about this, I don't agree with the illustrated theory of the gases travelling both over and under the floor.

That's what she said.

Would that be the girl from the lecture?

Or given their stated need for additional cooling due to their side pods, they could be intakes. Def worth keeping and eye out. We'll get a lot more leaks now with all the cars out in testing this week end and next.

Impossible to tell from that pic... just saw this though:

Not a great pic either mind you!

Yeh apparently thats the rear of the car, the wheel is the rear wheel.

Yup, here is the full size pic:

There's been a lot of speculation today about this. Some people are saying they're trying out 3 different exhaust configurations (see pics below for the other suggested placemenets) but i seriously can't see that. I think the hole in the splitter is for cooling purposes, possibly KERS. The final pic just seems like a weird place to put an exhaust so my guess is that the above photo shows where their exhausts are, for now at least...

i think the final pic is a sensor for tires perhaps?

It looks like they are testing both Blown Rear Exhausts

And Forward Exiting Exhuasts as apparently they have now changed it for Today

I think it is to soon to judge.

What with front-blown diffusers, the MRW, CURSE and the Pirellis, and with the loss of the shadow diffuser and the funny tea trays, I think the teams are too preoccupied with collecting data to let the boys race. It's quite possible we'll not have any real indication of who's fast until Abu Dhabi.

No chance the holes in the splitter are exhausts!

I don't think trying to route red hot exhaust pipes around and under the driver is a logical thing to do..... ( and near impossible)

Spilling exhaust out at that point would just chop up the air trying to flow rearwards along there, anyway. I think its easy to get carried away with the FEE phenomenon.

In my opinion, that offset rear shot of the McLaren, merely shows the rearmost exhaust primary pipe poking out...

maybe it is extra cooling for the KERS
