His start of the season run was really uncharacteristic, he showed his ability sure, but kept making errors that let him down and had him trailing the Ferrari's and redbulls. To some extent it was just bad luck, but also him trying to overdrive the car, not coping with the pressure and being back at the top end of the grid very well.

"A season of two halfs plus a final race" perhaps?

I have no doubt whatsoever that if Lewis has an "up to par" car he is unstopable  while other drivers need the best car,one that fits their style, help from teammates etc!!!!!

Mano a mano Lewis is KING!!!!!!! check his record/s :whip:

No driver is unbeatable, this arrogance is ridiculous.

That claim can neither be confirmed nor denied. So all we've got left is discussions on a forum.

For 'uncharacteristically mistake ridden' read inconsistent. Thats all i was saying. He is not Mr. Consistent.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

And who has beaten Lewis???
#238513
Kimi, Vettel, Button :hehe:

Your argument that he doesn't need a car setup for his driving style etc, that it just needs to be inherently fast is wrong I think.

Whats an "up to par car", anyway? Is that supposed to read best car?

Well, my point is I don't think on average he's like that, he's clearly got the capability and has earned the Mr. Consistent acclaim in the past. Even consistent drivers can have their bad patches.

Im not disputing his capability, he's right up there; but Im mystified about his Mr.Consistent claim, I can remember plenty of erratic patches.

I don't mean like that silly, if that was the case, any drive that hasn't gone head to head against lewis with the same hardware can claim that he's potentially a Lewis slayer and all they need is to paired with him.

BTW, I've not followed the race of champions but has Lewis ever competed there and how has he done?

I had no idea they were Lewis' teammates :hehe::hehe: I said what driver has beaten him...not what car

"up to par" not faster NOT SLOWER car than his competition!!! Money in the Bank

edit; well Button was......................................................................and........................ :wavey:

I think it's mostly about his double championship. In 2005 and 2006 I remember Alonso being very consistent, he wasn't the fastest on the grid, but still won those championships.

We've had this disagreement before, I argue the car and driver are linked too tightly for us to separate them, there is no such thing as an equal car.

If you had been to see one you'd know its great fun but a bit of a farce. the one I watched. Massa beat Shumacher but Schumacher went through(aparantly Massa touched the sides so was penalised...they were all touching the sides!). Kovi then beat Schumacher and knocked him out. So they added an extra race because they wanted to see schumacher against Loeb in the fial. Schumi won this and was heralded as winning ROC. He didnt, Loeb won the real one. Alesi(I think) had a car that wouldnt work.
And all this is on a figure of eight track on a Rugby field. As I said its good fun and Id go again but its hardly a measure of the best drivers.

And as someone said Macca dont allow it.
