Most of Egypt has been cut off from the internet due to the protest and uprising. There govt. pretty much controls telecom and swiftly brought down communications. Vodafone was compliant with their request because it was in Egypts legislation.. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing.

They have to respect that country's law.

If the refused they'd just be forced too anyway thats the regime in egypt

Yep, you're right GAZ. On the one hand, I am all for freedom of speech and human rights. On the other hand if freedom of speech fuels islamic fundamentalist that want to kill me, then.....

Vodafone may or may not take a PR hit on this..

American Governments for 30 years have backed the current Egyptian government instead of condoning the regime. I wouldn't be blaming Vodafone for anything in making you as Americans feel less safe. :wink:

Those who hide behind religious fundamentalism (things which aren't stated in the Qur'an, but made up by MEN) to oppress and keep people in the dark ages, especially women.
