I actually kinda agree with this because the mechanics work a shitload but the FIA should let teams bring spare cars again. If not than if a car needs a shitload of work the mechanics will be hurrying to get the car all patched up before the curfew which I guess kinda defeats the purpose of the curfew haha

It's strange you know, you tell us Ferrari have spent the most therefore have the best mechanics but redbull won the WDC and WCC and McLaren came higher in the WCC (than Ferrari).
Actually, if Ferrari already had the best mechanics, why do they need any extra help with the rule changes? Or is there some reason to suggest Ferrari mechanics don't work as hard as other teams's mechanics, therefore limiting the hours will benefit Ferrari?

At anyrate, even if they have the best mechanics, is there a reason they shouldn't be advantaged by that?

Do you have any actual evidence to show us that this was introduced to specifically advantage Ferrari?

Hey, I know I became active in the forum around the time when you left to go serve in the military. Forgive me for not remembering the details, but welcome back and thank you for your service.

This new rule makes another argument in the case for allowing spare cars again. It's retarded to have teams bring 2 race cars plus parts for another 2 cars, but not assembled to each race and then have the mechanics work overtime incl. night shifts just to fulfill the requirement of no spare cars. Now they'll have to do it in fewer hours (or will have to claim one of the 4 exemption nights) and thus, in that kind of hurry there may well be some oversights and snafus such as leaving a wrench in an air duct or somtin' like that (JB anybody?). So, I'm looking forward to more dnf's this coming season - yeehaw

I agree with DD about allowing spare cars again but how can a team build up this spare car with the mandated six hour curfews. After a few complaints, non-starts and DNF's the curfew will probaly be abolished but not before teams get the spare car. I believe this is a backdoor approach by Luca Montezemolo of Ferrari to eventually return to running three cars per team which he favors.
