That's VERY reliable.

I dont remember this yr's Mclaren engine failure... other than that only 2 fails, and the prev yr only 2 as well.

No need to look at completed lap % because crashes and whatever else comes into play.

The only championship-category team on better reliability has been Brawn GP... but that was a 1-off.

Only 2 fails in 2009. 2008 and 07 were very similar...

When you think the only two failures attributed to Ferrari for this year are the engine changes at Bahrain, its a pretty good record for 2010. As you know those engines didn't fail, they were changed as a precaution and can be used again.

It does show just how reliable the major teams have become.

Yeah. Although, Ferrari has had several 'issues' not failures, like the clutch on some starts, and the time Alonso blew the engine due to the gear box having an issue. The only real weak-looking car this yr was the Red Bull and it seems by now everything is fine.

And for example, Mclaren showed the gearbox failure after the crash, which could have been counted as 2, but somehow it shows as just one... but anyway, it 'could' have been caused by the crash. Therefore its not really a reliability issue. I still dont know what is the engine failure Mclaren reported this yr.

We certainly know why they didn't allow Ferrari to provide their own ECU.

It is a total case of blasphemy, strictlty imo, that the governing body's aloud a F1 team/competitor to construct an ECU that all the teams MUST use. Take it for what you want but in all reality WE ALL KNOW that it's just not right.

Someone want to explain to me what an ECU is? Or just give me the full word so I can google it.

Electronic control unit. All (modern) cars have one.
