If Massa had won and Alonso second, He would have only been 30 odd points behind Alonso with 8 races to go. Under the old scoring system thats like being 12 points behind. There is still every chance Massa can win if Alonso can!

Jenson and Lewis are pretty much even. Both driving without struggles. Seems much more likely, they are both capable than one or the other.

if Mclaren did it, the issue would be aside from both the drivers been pretty much equal right now, that mclaren says they dont. So if it is their team policy because of how they tihnk its best... then why would they change it for a specific situation? lso, the fans always criticise when others do it... so why the cnage of heart? i dont remember much fuss about the Heikki pass... people understood it, and congratulations on lewis for winning his WDC based on a reasonable team order. just dont say they dont do it. Because they do. it all depends on what the situation or interest of the team is at any specific moment.

I am very sorry if I sounded racist, I hate racism, I love spanish culture n people, but in the case of the sport it is obvius
that some people (not only here) are defenting a driver not for his racing ability, driving skills, character, athletic spirit, etc.
but just becouse he is the same nationality as they do. So their judgement comes from patriotism....

Fernando Alonso remains unmoved by the furore surrounding Ferrari's illegal use of team orders in the German Grand Prix - saying he still has a 'great feeling' from his victory in the event.

Although Ferrari was fined $100,000 and faces the possibility of further sanctions from the FIA for breaking the regulations in telling Felipe Massa to sacrifice the race lead for Alonso, the team remains unrepentant about what happened.

And Alonso said on Tuesday that his emotions after the weekend are only for the great job that Ferrari did in securing its first victory since the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix.

"All wins are special," wrote Alonso on Ferrari's official website, as he made no reference to the team orders issue.

"Winning is a great feeling and that was the case in Hockenheim, especially when I think of the huge workload undertaken by everyone at Maranello to achieve this fantastic one-two finish.

"No one ever gave up and I know how pleased they were to see two Ferraris cross the line ahead of all our rivals. For over a month now we have been saying that we had to get back to winning at least once before the summer break and finally, we did it.

I dont think even Schumacher carried on in this way when Rubens gifted him a win...

Millions of fans will adore Alonso, millions more will despise him, and he doesn't give a fig.



He's a winning machine who's found his way from Asturias to already having two F1 championships in his pocket. Champion racing drivers are ruthless, selfish, complex people. If you're looking for someone to love or take on holiday then it's the wrong place to look.

I played the sportsmanlike and balanced role in my career because that's my nature, like Massa, and I significantly underperformed my potential. I could have done with some Schumacher and Alonso unreasonableness.

He is a character.

One thing is certain: that's exactly what ferrari needed after Kimi.
Maybe the Ferraris of a couple seasons ago could have ended up being better or getting better results. Ferrari felt they needed the extra push, and Alonso gives it. The development of the F10 this yr proves it. The team is motivated.

I hope Massa doesnt lose motivation, and hopefully the 2 drivers can come to terms for the good of themselves, the team and competition.

If Massa is no good why did FA need teams orders to pass him, can't be that slow if mr 2 times has to resort to asking team for help to pass...........

1. Because Vettel was very close behind Alonso and was setting and resetting fastest lap on virtually every circuit.
1.A. Because lap times slow when cars fight for position. They must drive anywhere to protect their position or to execute the pass, paying little heed to the proper racing line.
1.B. Because if Massa and Alonso were tussling for P1, it significantly would have increased the chances that Vettel could have taken advantage of their condition and passed the both of them.

2. Because an F1 car is a fragile instrument. If the pass were contested, that would manifestly increase the probability of contact between them and the possibility of damage to one car or both. With Vettel in such close trail, even minor damage to either Ferrari undoubtedly would have moved him up the podium (potentially along with Hamilton, Button and Webber) and cost Ferrari significant points in both the WDC and the WCC. Alonso was loyal enough to his team that he would not risk the sort of self-inflicted injury RBR has suffered twice already this season -- the sole reason RBR do not dominate both the WDC and WCC at this point -- just to get to the top step of the podium.

I'm from America so one thing is for sure...I don't care where any of these guys are from lol It's a shame a really hope one day we get a driver in F1 but doesn't look like that will happen any time soon

When Hamilton was cheated (just in a clever way) out of the championship in his rookie season by the same FIA that we all hate from time to time...I don't remember people talking about the FIA wanting to see the title go to FINLAND

I'm sorry but I don't quite understand your wording so I apologize if I am misinterpreting it. I have actually known that Alonso was a jerk before I liked F1. When I was a young girl (didn't care about F1, but happened to be watching), I was watching a race with my dad and we discussed Alonso's character. So yeah. I don't even know why I remember this conversation so vividly, but ever since then I haven't been a fan. I wasn't trying to sound pretentious or something.
