BUD / HEXAGRAM

You are both defending what has happened to your teams? Surprising no.

McLaren are no angels & neither are Ferrari, this is sport, its harsh and you will either be 1st or 2nd, Lewis will always be numero 1 and so will Alonso. Simple as that, Heikki out of Hammy? Hammy is the obvious choice.

Sponsors? WDC? WCC? This is a business, not a game, mathematically Alonso needed the win. Feelings do not matter? So why winge?

Lewis needed to pass Heikki, simple. All the finns would of been pissed. But they did not get bad press, Ferrari were stupid to make it so bloody obvious for one but they have done it and have got off lightly. So next GP lets see if Alonso has what it takes to make the win, He could be in a shot to win the WDC, a very long shot? But the Sponsors like Santander who have a major sponsorship deal will prefer the Spaniard up there. End off, the FIA nor Ferrari care. They have made $100,000 profit and Ferrari have got there number 1 man up there, Santander are very happy and have a new scheme. What is more shocking from you bunch is you are surprised? Or even the slightest shocked. Why? I knew and so did 75% of you watching knew what would happen? he is preferred over Massa? Doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure that one out.

End off, Ferrari will be like this when my Son is in his 20's and supporting the next great 6 times champion while letting the best looking and more dominant driver win.

Massa is a walk over, Alonso is a strong character who does not let anyone put him 2nd , that's why he is there, plus why complain?

We have 5 drivers and we have a better race for next round.

Massa needs the contract and did what he had to do.

in both the above instances Ferrari never gave the order over the radio, both drivers knew the stakes pre race talks about scenarios of the points and gladly moved over on their own accord. I can guarantee before the race Massa thought he had every shot at winning the race the call from Smedley would have been a stake through the heart!

exactly the knife was to Smedlys neck when he was saying that he was absoulty gutted for his driver.

They need to throw the book at Ferrari to prevent this happening again.

@VB
As for Mclaren doing this If your refering to 2008 Silverstone or 2008 Hockenhiem they were actual overtakes rather than a radio team order.

you dont see how they couldve? wtf??? take off your red glasses youll see how quite easily!

Not saying they diddn't do anything wrong, but I wonder what the stewards evidence would be, could lead to a lot of borderline incidents in the future. "That was a coded message", No it wasn't!" sort of thing.

It'll probably end up being a case of, next time a team does it, don't make it as obvious as it was with Ferrari. Although that was clearly due to bad team planning, Massa being told earlier on to push.

Ferrari should've just hammered into their drivers, the priority in this race is a 1-2, push but don't do anything to compromise that.

If Ferrari felt they needed to favour Alonso, they should've told both drivers before the race, I assume the FIA don't monitor the team personal meetings.

I'm just saying sports is all based on favouritism, if you believe you have a higher chance of suceeding? Then go for it.

Example

Football -

One player has scored 6 goals based on penalties

the other has scored 2 goals based on penalties

You are obviously going to let the 6 goal man go for it. This will happen for years to come, its strategic which F1 IS BASED ON!!!

So all of your team has done it, And for EJ? For :censored: sake!

He is a bare faced liar, he used favouritism when Ralf & Damon were racing, :censored: if the rules were illegal or not, favouritism will always play a 20% factor in racing.

The only team it can't be a factor in is McLaren!!!
Jenson & Lewis are both great drivers and can't be split.

RBR -
They are both egotistic maniacs who both want to be on the front and back of the paper. That leads to crashes and tears.

even a deaf man could hear that message was code for letting Alonso pass. Im glad the stewards didnt believe Ferrari's LIES and punished them. Though i wish they DSQ them from the race and been done with instead of prolonging it with a extraordinary meeting of the WMSC. Though no doubt if Ferrari were DSQ they would have appealed and a WMSC would have likely been held in any case so perhaps the stewards made the right call afterall.

Not really $100,000? You got that for the canadian incident? As per Gaz's DP :)

i got fined that? but the moral of the story is they found Ferrari guilty and passed the incident on to the WMSC who no doubt will give further punishment and not merely monetary!

BTW McLaren were fined 10,000 not 100,000

Don't kid yourself, that Hockenheim pass was just more nicely executed and perhaps even more importantly not for the lead. All teams do it when it suits em!

youre forgetting lewis just came out the pits with fresh set of tyres added onto the fact he was faster than not only his team mate but everyone the whole weekend, I suppose Massa and Piquet let Hamilton through for the lead as well? how is that similar to the situation where Massa got the lead on merit was holding his own and had no reason why he couldnt have won.

Sorry Heikki got out the way and not fighting Lewis' overtake, Massa had to slow down. Difference right there!

F1 IS NOT A TEAM SPORT

Why do people call F1 a team sport ?

The only trophy that matters to the fans is the Drivers Championship and this can only be won individually. I thought the object of the sport is to have the drivers compete to determine who was the best driver otherwise they might as well stick remote controls on the cars and see which is the fastest car, whith this in mind I think the concept of team oredrs should be unacceptable.

No, it's a team sport. The driver is part of that team,

Because there is a team competition, and the driver doesn't get out to change his tires.

Still let his team mate past. Like i said in my massive post before team orders are team orders no matter how you try and dress it up or excuse it! They're all as bad as each other!

Interesting quote from Schumacher over on SPEED.

“Watching TV occasionally [on the big screens] I saw Felipe (Massa) be in first position,” said Schumacher. “I felt obviously happy because he’s a friend of mine. Then hearing Alonso has won the race I was wondering what kind of strategy was that?

... and can you believe the guy has time to "watch TV" while going around the circuit. :yikes:
