The pit crew and chiefs are relevant to the racing. One driver's girlfriend being on TV every single race is ridiculous as is the drivers fathers over and over again. What makes one driver's father more relevant than another?

yeah they did show Button's asian girlfriend and dad alot huh

This story says that, in the interest of spicing up the racing, Bridgestone have decided they will select compounds for the remaining circuits that will reward "aggressive tyre management." They're bringing supersofts again for Valencia. It reads as though it were Bridgestone's sole decision but, if I recall correctly, they bring whatever compounds the FIA tell them to. If they really want to spice up Valencia, they should add sleeping bobbies to the braking zones.

That sounds interesting. I assumed the reason Bstone didnt want to have tire wear issues on GPs was to not damage its reputation... but it sure was interesting to add the tire management strategies.

Yup, I also think they should add boobies to Valencia. :)

n.b. that was the planned compound choice anyway i believe - i have heard this change of approach will fully come into effect at Hockenheim.

I believe the rule is that Bridgestone have to bring two different compounds that must be at least two compounds apart.

My understanding is that they will bring the softest possible compounds possible as they apparently want to recreate the high degregation seen in Canada wherever they can, in their words they want to be 'more aggessive'. If they were doing what you say, they'd just be bringing super soft and hard compounds to every race, cause i'm pretty sure there's only 4 compounds to choose from - that wouldn't really lie in line with their actions as far as i can see, as when you think about races like Monaco Alonso managed basically the whole race on the medium compound! I don't know if they're keeping the compound 'gap' but i seriously doubt they'd raise it to two...

I also understand they want to go softer.

even in Canada, when they showed the comparison of the 3 tires, Button's were still perfect.
Jenson could have stopped earlier and ran at least 10 more laps on his last stint. Maybe would have won.

I'm sure that I heard Martin Brundle say on the commentary that Bridgestone need to bring tyres that must be at least two compounds apart, but as always I could be wrong or maybe Martin is even wrong and I heard correctly. But to be honest if there is super soft and soft compounds; that kinda negates the point of the refuelling ban as teams will need to pit 2 to 3 times for tyres, I already found it stupid that there is no refuelling yet teams have to change tyres; so a team can't drive the whole race without stopping!

yes they do. Except at some 'special' weekends (at least they did last yr) they bring immediate compounds, maybe for safety or because of excessive degradation from a specific compound.

I thought is was one compound apart like Super Soft and Medium or Soft and Hard.

thats what I mean... 2 steps up or down = skip one compound.
Super Soft... step 1= soft, step 2= medium

And sometimes they bring immediate for safety or some specific track issue.
