It looks like the hosts, South Africa could be heading out of the competition at the group stage being beaten 3 - 0 by Uruguay! I hope that South Africans still attend matches or else we'll be looking at stadia half empty, although that'll mean a lot less of those damn annoying vuvuzela's!!!

It would be great!

Switzerland beating Spain...What is this that I can't comprehend...

Spain won't be top two in their group.
they will lose to Chile.

And I think Brazil will draw with Côte d'Ivoire

By the way, I'm afraid Brazil won't be in top two as well.
I think Brazil, CdI and Portugal will achieve 5 points...

I hope I'm wrong.

I think we could be in for a few surprises this world cup; a lot of ranked teams have been decidedly poor including my home team England, Portugal, Spain and Italy, although Brazil won; it was hardly a classic Brazilian performance. I would definitely agree with the Ivory Coast standing a good chance of getting a point out of Brazil!

Hahaha
If he had missed that goal...he could give up playing soccer, but, ok...he played kinda nice that game. It's sad to remember that the game was against NORTH korea though...

You're right.
Brazil usually play better against good teams.Fact. Brazil always have issues in beating opponent's whose tactic is 10-0-0.
As for England game, I don't know if you are aware that USA have a good team, I mean, (at least) they were really good in the last game against us(Confederations Cup Final Game)
Spain, well, I think I've already told what I think...Great team on the paper but when we are going to sort men from the boys....
Paraguay aren't that bad but Italy certainly should have beaten them despite of having an old team.

My predictions are:

A:
1 Mexico
2 Uruguay

B:
1 Argentina
2 Nigeria

C
1 England
2 USA

D
1 Germany
2 really hard to say -> Australia

E
1 Holland
2 really hard to say [2] -> Denmark

F
1 Italy
2 Paraguay

G
1 CdI
2 Brazil
*correction

G
1 Brazil 7 points
2 CdI 5 points
3 Portugal 4 points
4 NK 0 points

H
1 Switzerland
2 Chile

Interesting but despite Spain losing to Switzerland, Spain are still strong. Remember back in 1994 when Italy played your Brazil in which you won on penalties. Well Italy also had lost their first game to the Republic of Ireland. And they then just managed to pass the group, struggled with Nigeria in the first knockout round and then get to the final eventually and almost win the cup. I also recall that in 1982 Italy only just passed the group because they drew all games. And then they won the cup beating West Germany plus the likes of Argentina and Brazil along the way. So I wouldn't write off Spain just yet. As for Italy in 2010, I don't believe we'll win again but I never thought we would win in 2006 so I guess one can never say never. As for the rest of your picks, I hope Australia does get that second spot behind Germany, only because I don't want it to be Serbia. But then again if it cannot be the Aussies, then Ghana is ok too. Lastly despite England and USA being the clear favourite in that group, I hope Slovenija gets through. England and Slovenija would be nice. I guess we'll have to wait until Slovenija play the Americans tomorrow. :)

That spanish result was massive.Unless Brazil slip up Spain have Brazil in the 2nd round ,if they get that far :hehe: .Realisticly Switzerland will beat Honduras in their last game,so Spain can't finish top :hehe:

Argentina getting the job done with ease once more. They're going to take some beating.

England will be sitting good by tomorrow night.Slovenia and the americans to draw.England to beat Algeria :hehe:

The tourney is picking up pace, all the second set of matches so far have been pretty good! Especially the one on now!

Can see Argentina struggling once they come up against one of the tactically stronger coaches, their players have fantastic technical abilities, but I can see them struggling later on.

France look to be in a world of hurt right now... almost certain to exit at the group stage... hopefully England can make amends tomorrow for the lacklustre performance against the USA last week... if they lose against Algeria, then they deserve to go home head hung in shame and more than likely England will be looking for another manager as Capello has looked tactically naive so far in this world cup!
