:hehe:

I wouldn't mind him @ McLaren. He was a good one there.

Alonso? At McLaren? I think not.

He belongs with us anyway. As he has said he wants to end his career with us.

I think I'm more about the drivers. I always want McLaren and Williams to do well but then if a driver I really disliked (i.e. Schumacher) were to move to one of those teams, I couldn't support him. I guess that means that the drivers trump the teams for me.

Hmm... I wonder if back in '96 Schumacher had moved to Williams whether he would still be so unpopular. The car would have been so good there would have been no competition and no need to push the rules.

Still, glad he didn't though.

See i have supported Ferrari since i was 6 so i have always liked the team and all their drivers. But i have had the one of niggle to like other drivers like when Alonso was at Minardi or when Raikkonen/Massa was @ Sauber. The 1 off i have liked is Montoya. Ferrari have always had Drivers i like, The one time that was tough was when Alonso was @ McLaren and Raikkonen was @ Ferrari. Sort of wanted them both to do well, I did cheer on the of chance for JB last year too

But Ferrari for ever

Drivers come and go.

So do teams unfortunately, albeit a little less frequently.

That's true. For many Formula One fans, the drivers will always be at the centre of everything because they are the personal side to the business and they characterise the success and failure (all the emotions really) which are behind a period of triumph.

The teams are lifeblood I suppose though. Revolution etc etc

I like my teams drivers to do well so this year its Button and Lewis.

But like Amanda says if Schui came to Mclaren that would be difficult...

But i do want Senna to do well also.

Hmmm i think the drivers reflect on the way you see the team. Alonso is ambitious and will do anything to earn a good solid win, Ferrari are in that certain frame of mind, Massa is the kind hearted part of Ferrari but if more than capable of being the WDC!

Hamilton + Button to be honest are the same, successful in the right mind and are very talented and their personality is almost the same too?

Nah, they're nothing alike, both in driving style and personality I'd say.

I usually refuse to support Ferrari (and that's not going to change) but the fact that I like Massa and Alonso (he's just so bloody good) has lessened my animosity just a tad. I still want McLaren to whip them though.

Alonso is misunderstood. Title Number 3 please.

Oh yeah, but i don't think it will be that easy. You have Massa, in which is a very talented driver and really deserves it. But Alonso has proven on his first outing that he is there for very good and has got his 'mojo' back. People hate Alonso for the wrong reasons just like Schumacher.
#191271
It won't be easy for any of the drivers. It is too close to call.

I can't say i'm the biggest lover of Ferrari, but I would like Alonso to be champion. That is my personal wish, but there is nothing to say that such a thing will happen.
#191274
I want Alonso to get it due to the whole 'Ferrari' thing :hehe: but other than that i do think Massa deserves it that little bit more, due to the crash and to prove he still has it, plus he is a worthy champion. But i can see Alonso getting it, just to being a genius to F1. Number 1 will come back to Maranello this year.....Plus i think it will be another record for Alonso, but he will be following in Schumi's foot steps way too much which is a little scary....
