:D :D

Things are looking good but still the Mclaren is not as fast as I wish it to be!

Ineluke, Hamiltons really is 0.8 second ahead on race pace?!! Jesus christ!

I need to calm down! :drink:

I hope he does another low fuel run at the end of the day!

I'm more than happy to knock you down there if you want, but I'm now just keeping my fingers crossed for some quali sims as well.

BBC F1 commentator Jonathan Legard: "Thierry Henry is here as a guest of Lewis Hamilton. He's down in the garage talking to the McLaren driver now he's out of the car after his race simulation. The former Arsenal striker is now playing for Barcelona and so was invited to come down and watch. Apparently, Hamilton and Henry met and became friends through mutual sponsors. I wonder if Hamilton needs a helping hand from the Frenchman? It got France to the World Cup finals of course..."

Didn't know they knew each other, Santander?

Jeez, it's so close... McLaren to edge it over one lap and Ferrari over the long runs then?

Looks like that but anyone notice Force India pace? It's going to be a really tight field and who can do the best development work will be very important.

Can't remember where I read it (probably autosport magazine) that mentions Schumacher is poor development driver. Eddie Irvine was saying how Schuy tested a front wing and said it was no good, whilst Irvine found it was worth 0.5 seconds.

Then we hear Schuy say the Mercedes car won't fight wins. Rosberg drives the car, and now he's apparently "studied the data" and the car is more than reasonable. :hehe: Can't trust a word he says

In all honesty, I think the first race will be closely fought between Ferrari and McLaren. Red Bull will be there, but not winning. Their car seems to be just like last years, so I'd say it's safe to base what tracks they'll do well at on last years races. So Red Bull will be the team to watch at Oz and Sepang.

Massa won a Ferrari 1-2 at Bahrain during both 07 and 08. But McLaren were pretty damn strong there last year. So I'd say its all to play for.

*Edit* Just noticed how fast Red Bull were actually last year at Bahrain. Vettel really could've won that race easily if he stayed ahead of Button on the first lap. So again, all to play for.

I am sure MS has not got to this point in his life without being able to develop a car! Where as Eddie Irvine on the other hand is still massive in motor racing after winning how many championships!?!

He got to that pont in life by screwing over his team mates.I read that article. Irvine was very complimentary about Schuey in other ways "he was just quicker and that was it" he accepted his supporting role and felt that Schumacher deserved it for being quicker. However when it came to testing he says:-
" Anyway, he wasnt very good at testing the car. he was very sensitive to the engine -but at set-up I dont thin k he was paricularly good at all. It's hiarious the way people describe him as being good at set-up. He missed a front wing that was worth nearlt half a second. he tried it and didnt lke it, and i tested it and it was worth half a second a lap. "

And Johnny Herbet.First test Jerez 95 ,4 testing days, 2 each; but it ends up Michael one and a half and Johnny a half(Michael needed to finnish his programme). Still in practice Johnny is a couple of thousandths quicker so Michael has a word with Flavio. Johnny is no longer allowed to see Michael's data but Michael gets to see Johnny's.
Nice guy

And the closing lines from testing:

Felipe Massa: "We never expected to have an advantage and to go to the first race and win in an easy way, definitely not. We expect to have a competitive car, and this I think we have done. The car is reliable, but also consistent, and that is what we want to start the season. We are not here to be the champions of the pre-season. We are here to work on the car, to try to have a good championship and fighting for the championship."

Well said

Not saying he can't develop a car. But we all know how much he hated testing, and how he said all he actually wanted to do was turn up, qualify, race and go home. Just saying it's funny how some things never seem to change.

Anyways, this was the quote from Irvine I was talking about.

Surely testing is just some eye candy for us!!
We'll see how they do in less than a a couple of weeks.
Fingers crossed, Massa to win the first race although i am probably gonna be surprised.
