Was 18 yesterday :cloud9: Great stuff

Anyways, I thought what I received from my Dad for my 18th was note-worthy enough to make a topic.

Simply enough. Got tickets to go to Silverstone this year, sitting at Woodcote, so it's all good. It'll actually be the first F1 race I go to see. But thats not all, he also printed out an e-mail he received. You see, a few months ago my Dad was going to some convention. Something to do with some Woman who manages a variety of speakers, and had showed my a list of people who were also going. I wouldn't call them famous, but they were people you may have heard off. Anyways, one name I had picked up on was Mark Gallagher. He worked with Jordan, was the team princepal for A1 Team Ireland, and also had just been announced as Cosworths General Manager. So this Mark Gallagher.

Anyways, my Dad ended up talking to Mark. I assume seeing as both were born and breed in the same area of Northern Ireland they got on well enough. Anyways back to the e-mail. It basically mentioned that whilst at Silverstone, he'd be happy enough to arrange a behind the scenes look.

F****** ecstatic to say the least.

Anyways, rather than make this about me. Anyone else any stories from their 18th, or any other momentous birthday for that matter.

MacBook Pro & booze. Happy days

I also got tickets to see Green Day and the day after that we went to Paris - so I got to go back to Disneyland. Oh and JB & Brawn GP won the championships at the Grand Prix closest to my 18th. That was a good month (Swine Flu or no Swine Flu)

I bought a NY Times when I turned 18. Most people buy *censored* and cigarettes when they turn 18, but I didn't smoke cigarette's so yeah. The freakin dude at the cash register didn't even card me though, so it kinda ruined the whole point of buying it.

edit: lol at the word filter. I meant *p o r n o* not the new york times.

I saw the Kings of Leon in 2005 for my 18th. The last time I was at a Grand Prix was in 1998 and we (me, my dada and various people who worked for Jaguar and various firms connected to the British motor industry) were put up by Delphi, at the time sponsors of Jordan. I got a paddock tour and a poke round the Jordan garage which was awesome!

I don't remember my 18th birthday. That's not because of alcohol or anything, there was just nothing memorable about it. Kinda like my 21st...
