Morning guys :wavey:

Soooo, Kimi?? Is he still haggling?? Is he worth it?? You know if I were McLaren boss right now and he hadnt agreed I d seriosly be lookng at Heidfeld(I love Kobi but too similar in style to Lewis). Nick will quietly pick up the points-the thing Kovi failed to do,when Lewis is sidelined. Thoughts?

Heidfeld would be excellent for McLaren imo, they need a proper number two

I would like Nick there but will he want to stay at Sauber? he seems to have a pretty close affinity to the team.

Hi Anna

My bet is on Kobi if kimi decides to take a vacation or go do rally or whatever. he wont cost a lot and appears to have a lot of potential...

I agree. The ideal situation for McLaren would be for Kimi to sign up but, if Kimi is unwilling to take 5m, then I'd start looking at Heidfeld. Kovalainen, as much as I like him, isn't consistent or fast enough to give McLaren a chance at the 2010 WCC- not against Massa and Alonso anyway. Kobayashi is exciting but too much of a risk for a team like McLaren, although I sincerely hope he gets a chance in another team.

mclaren can offer him what ever they want, 1p, 1mil, 10mil etc, he doesnt have to take it, they arent black mailing him

if i was team boss, i wouldnt pay much more than that, hes too unredictable, massa, alonso, both always want to do well, and thats why ferrari have them, same with lewis, its come to the point where the least motivated driver is without a seat, and tht says it all,

and yeah as gaz said, kobayashi would be an excellent choice! would love to see him gt that seat, could probs pay him under a mil, hed be grateful,

i would love to see that :)

I agree with all of this, especially the Kobayasi part.

I think McLaren would have a very good driver at a budget price,he certainly impressed me with his exciting driving, plus he is hungry.

Kobayashi could work out, but the choice itself wouldn't be wise. He's a rookie and a kamikaze-driver. We saw his very very aggressive style in Brazil and I don't know if McLaren can afford two drivers who might crash many cars. Actually maybe Lewis isn't that driver anymore, he only messed up in Monza, otherwise he was flawless.

Imma say for the tenth time, id LOVE to see heidfeld in McLaren, then we would have a number one driver Lewis, and a second driver to have a shot at WCC also. Heidfeld would be major upgrade over Kovalainen - a good qualifyer with good race pace AND a VERY consistent drive. He deserves his chance, because Heikki duck up his

 Yep agreed. I love Kobi (on his two performancs), he's the sort of driver i lke to watch but I dont thnk its ideal for McLaren at this stage. Heiffeld is the better bet.

koby would be a big risk, esp for a team going for the WCC+WDC but id still like to see it, :D in realitiy if mclaren dont get kimi there arent that many decent established drivers left, NH could be one, hed be better than kovi, and hes solid if unspectacular

I would like to see Koby in a front running team but as already said he is too much of a risk for McLaren. They might also be scared that he might take goldenballs off, and no one likes team mates to take each other out.

apart from Nick, Nico, Trulli, there is not much else out there who is established.

Australia? Maybe not a 'driving' rookie mistake, but a rookie mistake nonetheless...
