That reminds me of Switzerland. Back when, the regs were that you had to take 30 lessons at (then) almost 100 bucks each. Then you could take the driving test - only, the test was with your instructor and some other instructor, so the fail rate was huge (more than 50%) and you had to go back and take another 10 lessons, thereby paying another grand to those instructor crooks - a total scam! At the end, you were out more than 3 grand just for the license. Early on I decided I can't afford a car and don't need one anyway (public transportation plus friends had cars if I needed to transport something big) and above all I didn't want to pay those scammers my hard-earned money. So, I only acquired a motorcycle license for which lessons were recommended, but not required (I took a few out of survival instinct and kept going for day-long refresher courses every year, which were great in every respect!).
Only in the US I finally got a car license, which was so easy to do after having driven motorcycles for years on those dangerous roads in Switzerland (dangerous in terms of aggressive car drivers who don't know how to deal with motorcyclists in traffic).

Yes, I'm once again reviving my idea of getting a Motorcycle License. But the speed restrictions do apply. So going 80km/h at night on some of these country roads around my place could get me killed. (As everyone else is doing the 110km/h).

I lodged a complaint with the RTA. But I'm expecting them to say "Obviously you need to drive 120 hours if you think you should be doing 110km/h."

As far as I'm concerned, the only restriction on learner and provisional drivers/riders should be:

1. No towing
2. No driving on freeways.
3. No alcohol*

The alcohol rule should be enforced on every driver.

It's only 30 hours here in Kansas, I have been astonished by how easy it is to get a licence here in the US; it was never that easy in the UK!


Yeah and people over 18 dont even need to take driving lessons (not that they help crappy drivers anyway), you can just show up to the DMV and hope you pass!! Thats why there's a bunch of goons on the roads.
