Apologies if this has been discussed. Seeing as refuelling is banned next season, what sort of timings could we expect on the earlier laps, take for example Abu Dhabi, where the lap timings were around 1.41sec

I think Brundle said at Abu Dhabi 1 lap of fuel cost 1 tenth a lap, so that's pretty simple maths - laps times will probably improve by 5 or so seconds throughout the race.

Is the 1/10 per lap a linear rate?

also I would imagine 1st tyre stops will be sooner because the tyres will be worn quicker due to the extra weight

Its going to be interesting. Those cars are going to be like bloody elephants trying the marathon. Not good for fast racing, and bad for tyre degradation. IMHO, fuel strategy adds to the excitement, OK there's been one or 2 cock-ups on refuelling, but no serious ones in the last 2 or 3 years, Massa driving off with the hose attached, and who could forget Heikki giving Kimi the 'Golden spray' treatment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaqtmIlRQZ8

For the refueling ban to work the mandatory pit stops should be taken away, it would be interesting to see which drivers try and last the distance on 1 set of tyres.

I think no tyre changes would be good for people like Jenson and Rubens. A nightmare for people like Lewis

Maybe the FIA want that to happen and Bridgestone didn't like it.

Well, they were saying that's what the penalty per lap of fuel carried in qualifying was, if that answers your question...

That's exactly why the rule about using both compounds was brought in i think - because Michelin were leaving, Bridgestone did not want the tyre aspect to be forgetten about.
