i personally think that everyone involved in this should be banned from F1. no second chances. set an example and move on. as to the changing of the championship, massa was dominating that race and probably would have won. but probably isnt good enough and it shouldnt be changed. maybe an asterix beside the title. im sure hamilton knows now that he would not have won the title. if piquet and everyone else knew about it, then alonso knew about it. i enjoy the site very much. ive been lurking here reading all of the posts for weeks. great site :)

I reviewed race on my TIVO and checked race results for Singapore 08 on f1.com. When Piquet hit wall on lap 47/61 Massa was leading race and Hamilton was P3. When pits opened after safety car Massa pitted from P1 for tires and fuel. Now the famous video footage of Massa leaving pits with fuel hose still attached. Massa lost approx. 90 seconds due to fuel problem. Race results: Alonso-P1, Rosberg-P2, Hamilton-P3, Massa-P13. According to Max race results for Singapore 08 will not change. If Massa had placed P8 or higher, would Crash-Gate hearing/rumors been dealt with after race. Spa was just three weeks earlier, and the stewards fixed a race, remember.

Wow, this is totally messed up. Perhaps they've just jumped instead of being pushed, although i don't see what them resigning like this will really do to benefit ANY of the parties involved, apart from saving face (to a very small degree).

I would of thought after spy-gate that all the teams would have made sure they were squeeky clean. A very dark day for the integrity of the sport

You might think after a few doping scandals in tour de france, next year all teams would be clean, but no. So why would F1 with even more corporate money in it, be any different. They all play close to the limit and try to win by any way possible, and ready to break the rules, as long as they don't get caught.

Is there any clean team, I doubt, any clean driver; maybe a few, but it all depends if it's worth it.

Last year Renault needed a win desperately, and Alsonso was fast in qualifying, so it made sense to try.

You're right one person getting caught doesn't eradicate the problem. It does move in the right direction.

There you're being negative - clean drivers there are plenty of and clean teams exist in the paddock too. A few bad examples doesn't set a precedent.

Didn't Schumacher take Damon Hill out once to clinch a drivers championship?

Once the FIA get their own house in order, e.g. all the ridiculous post-race penalties last year, there may be a slim chance that the teams may not follow.

It amazes me how often the WDC runs to the wire.... anyone fixing that?
