It's not cheating, it's called bending the rules. As i've said he would never get penalised for that so he was well within his rights.

They all could have done it. It would be slower under normal conditions, which is why no one does it once the race got going, it just guarantees a good exit in the event of an indecent at La Source which Kimi correctly anticipated and went round without compromising his exit speed. If they had all got through without anyone getting held up (unlikely but speaking hypothetically here) then Kimi would have probably lost a place as he had to travel further and had less traction.

He had the exact same track position so it's fair the reason he started to overtake people because he just KERS them.

Simple. He gained no competitive advantage.

If you look at the pictues,he doesn't take such a sharp corner so keeps more speed going through.

Don't get me wrong i wouldn't do him for it, but think that line maybe used by a few more drivers next time.

in 6 he is 3rd, he is 2nd after eau rouge when he KERS pas the BMW but yeh it certainly looks like by avoiding the melee he made up more placeds that he wouldn't of normaly.

Thats true, but could he of KERS them if he was behind them.

I didn't think much of it when I saw the race as it was common practice prior to last year and the Hamilton incident. But looking back at the footage it does seem like he got an advantage by not having to slow down as much as he took a wider sweeping line. It's another case of FIA stewards being highly inconsistent. Maybe a new rule banning throttle usage on the run off areas would be appropriate, that'd give the driver an incentive to get back on the track as soon as safely possible and not maximise the run off area.

We need to do away with these car parks anyway. They look awful and drivers should be punished for errors!

I have two view's on this matter,
1. Since Kimi did not shortcut the corner there should be no penalty yet I
did think he was supposed to relinguish the position he gained, very grey
area imho so I'm not sure about the latter part.
2. If Kimi had not used the full run-off area and tried to rejoin under full
acceleration going over the grassy part it could have meant a huge
shunt.

I think that it was a pre-planed move by ferrari, my thinking behind this is, why did badoer take exactly the same line when he had no one to avoid?
