Let's face facts here, Williams would be wiser to opt for either or and give someone like the Hulk the second seat.

With the Hulk dominating in GP2, I think giving him a Williams seat would be a good idea now. The fact he has been at the factory building FW31 parts in between GP2 races will allow him to contribute in car development. He will also have nothing to lose and everything to gain in his first season in F1 so he will be itching to push whoever his team-mate ends up being.

Push them or spend Sunday sat in the gravel trap? :hehe:

By the time Hulk gets a drive there might not be anymore gravel traps left in F1. :(

There's always the one in Shanghai's pit lane if he's short of opportunities. Unless Lewis gets there first. :P

Maybe Rosberg and Webber will get there again first, but they got "rescued" when they did that. :P

Fisichella 'dreaming' of Ferrari drive

By Jonathan Noble and Simon Strang Thursday, August 27th 2009, 13:36 GMT

Giancarlo Fisichella says it would be a 'dream come true' to race for Ferrari in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

With fellow Italian Luca Badoer having struggled for competitiveness while standing in for the injured Felipe Massa on his F1 return at Valencia last weekend, speculation persists that he could be replaced for the Italian Grand Prix on September 13.

Fisichella has been linked to a switch from Force India, but the 36-year-old veteran claims he has not had any contact with Ferrari so far.

"I think there is a lot of rumour and I have seen my name on the top of the list everywhere," Fisichella said on Thursday in Belgium.

"But Ferrari didn't call me so for me it's nothing.

"If they had called me I could say something more, but I have not contacted them. I'm a Force India driver, it's as simple as that."

Fisichella did admit, though, that he relished the idea of switching to Ferrari in a final flourish to his 13-year F1 career.

"For sure, it's a dream for all the drivers," he said. "Especially for me, as an Italian driver, let's say at the end of my career, so it's a very good opportunity. It would be nice.

"I have 220 grands prix so far, it would be very good pressure for me. It's not a big problem, it would be a very good opportunity but so far I can't say anymore."

Fisichella added that he had expected Badoer to perform better and that his compatriot would have to step up his game if he was to keep his Ferrari race seat until Massa returns.

"I thought Luca was able to do much better than that, even though he didn't drive in the last few months, and he didn't race since 1997," he said. "But he was struggling quite a lot.

"Obviously there was a lot of pressure for him with the new circuit and everything. Probably here is going to be better, but he needs to do a big improvement compared to the last race."

I think this article deserves posted in here as well, as, on first reading anyway, I got the impression retirement is on Fisichella's mind.

Williams have changed their tune. Not long ago, Rosberg was being slated. Clearly, the team were sulking over his thoughts of leaving. As much as Rosberg's leaving will be a bummer for Williams, they cannot complain, really. Rosberg has given the team enough time to get its house in order, but nothing serious has materialised. To progress his career, Rosberg has to move elsewhere.

Yes I agree but I do not think McLaren is the answer. there is only room for one organ grinder at Mclaren and one Monkey.

Yep, Nico will get badly treated at McLaren even if he is good friends with Hamilton, that won't stop him getting all the inferior equipment.

I don't think Nico will be much of a loss providing Sir Frank brings in somebody like Kubica (which is very likely) because unlike Nico, Kubica has taken pole, won a race and been in the frame for race wins, so he'll know how to get the job done.

With the return of Massa being uncertain and Alonso slated to drive a red car, I can't see Ferrari paying the salary for two former WDC drivers as teammates. McLaren and Ferrari each have one drivers seat in question for 2010 season. If McLaren doesn't sign Rosberg there is only one team left.

Fisichella is Italian as well.

He needs to get a text message like Sebestian.

I've got cheese in my fridge that's Italian and would do a better job than Badoer...

It would still come last. But it would crash less. I guess you're spot on

I'm sure its a dream for any italian to drive a Ferrari at Monza... i would definitely understand Fisi's pt of view. But on the other hand, to have a driver stand in just because of his nationality would be unfair to the other guys standing in line. Anyway, if Fisi is really retiring, then i hope he gets the drive for Monza.
