I don't think he LH is exactly under performing he has had a poor car most of the season and did some brilliant drives still. When the MP4-24 finally got near the front he won.

We'll see, Jacques was 5th at the end of his 3rd year... Hamilton is 8th by now :hehe:

Firstly the season is not over yet and better results will come Lewis could be in 5th place by the end of this weekend. You also have to take into account car performance which you seem to want to ignore. Lewis is doing well he has consistently out performed his team mate and he outperformed Alonso when Lewis was a rookie.

Once Hamilton doesn't come out with an album I'll be happy. He won't join USGPE either proclaiming that they will be near the front in their first season in F1 so I think its safe to assume he wont follow the Villeneuve route! :D

Erm, alot of people made that comparison becuase Jaques never won again after his WDC 2nd year yet Lewis has so your comparrison is flawed.

I did it before his WDC

well its now Flawed dont you think? i dont think JV won a race after his WDC Lewis staying at McLaren is another difference to JV.

Perception is the key to reality.

And reality is McLaren have admitted they didn't manage Fernando well.

Thats your perception.

No, it's Martin Whitmarsh's, and by extension, McLaren's. Nobody is saying Alonso is blameless, but the problems Alonso had at that team were of McLaren's creating and it was their job to sort it out. They did not do so, and whilst that doesn't make them directly responsible for anything Alonso did wrong, it also means they can't pass the blame because they let it happen. If Whitmarsh can admit they made mistakes, you have no reason not to.

Do you have any real understanding of Mclaren/Mercedes operate? I think they are great before anyone thinks I am lining an attack up against them, but the fact is they are the most corporate team on the field. They have entire buildings devoted to P.R.

My point earlier, perception is the key to reality, was in other words, opinions are like assholes we all have one.

My opinion is based upon what I see with my own eyes, through reasoned discussion and occasionally from inside sources who I trust. I make no assumptions about your sources.

Finally, if a man becomes a murderer who do we blame? The man who through his own actions committed the dastardly deed or the society that allowed it to happen? Ergo, how is it Mclarens fault if a two time world champion can't behave like one?

I admire Fernando for his driving skills, and recognising the damage he did to his reputation outside spain he seems to be a much more agreeable character. Which is admirable. It will be fascinating to watch him in what will hopefully be a competitive Ferrari. But if I am ever asked about what I though of him in 2007 it's simple. Spoilt, Brat, Toys, Pram.

My perception it's the same as Martin Whitmarsh, it was a mess done by Ron Dennis, I have also predicted then that situation should make Hamilton the new Jacques Villleneuve, and till now it's exactly what is happening (1st year - great performance, 2nd year - WDC, 3rd year and so...)

Dont think so. Lewis is better than JV, and Mclaren is a better team than... BMW. Lewis is also younger and didnt have to battle the MS/Ferrari machine

Fernando's arrival to Ferrari would mean the same it meant at Mclaren: a definite CHANCE to dominate and bring back winning ways. In Mclaren it came quite close... while Kimi's arrival at Ferrari was countered by Mclaren's form and by losing key figures. I think Fernando's arrival to Ferrari is being better orchestrated, so i'd expect a few crucial moves at Ferrari prior to Alonso's arrival... plus Ferrari might pull a Honda/Brawn and start '10 ahead of everyone hehe

From F1 Live:

Toyota looks set to part ways with its Italian driver Jarno Trulli at the end of the season. A report of the German news agency SID said that while the Japanese team is likely to retain Timo Glock, its relationship with 35-year-old Trulli is near the end.

"We have an option on Timo,” Team President John Howett is quoted as saying. “It is very probable that we will take it up, however we will separate with Jarno Trulli.”

He praised Glock as "very, very good" in the races but said he must work on his qualifying form. "We will do everything to help him," Howett said.

As for Trulli, who is Toyota's top points scorer in 2009, Howett explained: "We have spoken with him, however up to now we have reached no agreement."

Jarno Trulli on Saturday denied he is at loggerheads with Toyota about a new contract for 2010 over the issue of money.

As reported earlier, the 35-year-old Italian is at risk of losing his seat with the Cologne-based team, according to quotes attributed to boss John Howett.

However Trulli said the uncertainty about his future is not simply due to a disagreement with Toyota about by how much his salary should drop.

"Money has never been an issue, absolutely not," he told reporters at Valencia. "At the moment there is a lot of cost cutting and I do believe in this part also the driver has to play his role and I am more than happy to."

Trulli admitted he is in talks, but the suggestion in F1 circles is that the 2010 driver market is unlikely to move significantly until major players like Fernando Alonso declare their hand.

"Every year there are a number of pivotal points during the season which determine what is going to happen in the drivers' market," McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh said earlier this weekend.

"This year I think we all know that the Fernando/Ferrari move has a knock-on (effect) and that ripples through the other teams. Clearly the BMW withdrawal will also have an impact. So I don't think we see a need at the moment to rush into it.”

:-\

Trulli is still a solid performer and to be honest, I could see Kobayashi or Nakajima getting a seat there, neither of which would be good for the team. The only reason I could really see them dropping Trulli is if they want Heidfeld, Kubica or Heidfeld.
