Max was quite well liked and respected apart from the last 2 or 3 years when he had all the subtle arm-twisting skills of a WWE Smackdown tournament; and looking at what's happened to BMW and Honda (and quite probably Renault as well) - he had a point, even if he seemed keener on sharpening and thrusting it into the eyes of everyone who disagreed than trying to come to a compromise.

The main thing that will improve the stability of the sport and make it more viable financially is when Bernie pops his clogs since - let's face it - he's only going to give it up when they prise his cold, dead hands off it.

I bet there'd be eff-all difference between Ari and Todt once they got in though I think from a trust perspective anything remotely pro-Ferrari would inevitably reflect badly on Todt since there would always be the sniff of corruption hanging around - and it's not as if there haven't been enough of them, has there?

Ari quite sensibly! Toadt is a bit too divisive a figure for me, I'd prefer not to have anyone so closely associated with a particular team running things despite the relationship he may have with Montezemolo. Sure Todt knows F1 but hes not running for the head of F1 he's running for the presidency of the FIA. IMHO it would be great to see a driver in this post. Usually its some type of lawyer/manager/professional politician type and as some have mentioned, these clowns become interchangable at that point. One is just like the next, who is just like the next. A driver should approach things form a fresh perspective, and I'd like to see how that works out.
